Lion ("Dangerous Attraction" and "Trouble In Angel City" albums)
But it was sped up slightly, thus raising the overall pitch of the song... and I could tell the song just sounded different from the version that is on their album "Dangerous Attraction". The vocals sound slightly different (with more harmonies too) and there's keyboards. There are other less obvious differences too but I'd be nitpicking if I listed them.
The Bad Moon Rising stuff is great as well, and is esentially a more modern, bluesier, hard-rock version of Lion, with Kal Swan on vocals. Their discography is available in one 3-CD digi. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!
I got two Bad Moon Rising cds while I was living in Japan a few years ago. I also got one of the Lion cds, all used and at a great price. Man, I loved going to those cd shops and browsing the used section.
My Full Moon Collection came in the mail today. Blasting it right now. When I'm done wearing out the Kal/Doug stuff, I'll probably explore Burning Rain next.
These Bad Moon Rising albums kick serious ass. I'm noticing Doug using more single coil sounds with this band compared to when he was in Lion.
First one has a slightly sleazy side that wasn't evident as much in Lion, like a final salute to hair metal or something. Second one you can tell they're starting to shift their sound slightly. Third one has a grungey feel and I actually really like "Belligerant Stance" now... the video is fun.
I think I'm pretty comfortable that I now have all the stuff by the Kal/Doug team... including the Transformers theme in high quality, and "The Wraith" version of "Never Surrender". There's a few mediocre-quality acoustic videos of BMR floating around on Youtube so I'm not banking on finding high quality audio recordings of those. And now I can't view the original "Powerlove" video because the record company doesn't let non-American viewers access it. That was a fun video too.
These guys should have been huge. Poor Kal Swan, I hear he's given up music entirely and gone into hiding. What a waste.
