  • The Ratt "Lay it down" Video

    Hi everybody,
does someone know, which white V Robbin is playing in this vid? Is it a Double Rhoads or a "normal" KV like a KV2, KV3 etc. ...?
    Thank you guys!

I don't think Robbin had any 'normal' KVs, so logically that would make it a double Rhoads. I'm no Robbin expert, but as far as I know, Robbin had 3 neck thrus (Big Red, Big White and a black one (Big Black?)), plus a coloured dragon bolt-on and a few white bolt-ons....

Check out www.Robbincrosby.net for more info on his guitars...

This is one of Robbin's main White KV's named "Little White."

This website is for sale! robbincrosby.net is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, robbincrosby.net has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

Also, Robbin was a pretty big dude, so the Double Rhoads guitars may have looked smaller on him therefore creating the illusion of a regular KV.
Kind of like RD from the JCF in a way.

Hey while we're on the subject, Hard Rock Cafe in TJ Mexico has (had?) a white KV that they say was Robin's, any truth to that or was that just a jackson that they put up to represent Robin?
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

I have seen that guitar that you are referring to in Tiajuna, Mexico. It is a bolt-on King V and it is signed by Robbin Crosby. The sad thing is that there is a Hard Rock in Robbin's home town of Lajola, CA and not even one item owning any tribute to the King at all.

robbin had a couple of regular sized, bolt on king vs, but the one in the LID video is "Big White", which is a double rhoads. Little white (which is one of my favorites to play of his) is a regular sized king v.

Sully and Curt have done a great Job on the site. It is a real Tribute to the King.

I dont know why i havnt looked deeper into the site before now. I feel like i know him now. And like i lost friend. You guys did a great job keeping it a personal thing and not making it a coperate-esque site. You really showed the person Robbin was. At least it looks that way to me. And I've discovered things about him that i didn't know before. Like his dislike for Pizza. and his like for Star trek etc.. It really brings a human aspect to his life and who he was. Which was obviously a close friend of you (Sully) and Curt. Also a true human being and not just a rock star.
                          Thanks guys.

Matter of fact Sully, that's where I saw your name before. I knew that you were a familiar name but I couldn't place you.
Robbin Crosby.net is you and your friends' creation? That's really cool man! Good job on the site, I frequent there a good bit when I need a reference photo, and also RC.net was where I first found Henrik's Audio Zone.
That's pretty cool how things unfold like that.

hey gil, thanks for the kind words.
the robbin site started in march of 2003, and went up relatively soon thereafter. it's a site that i seriously need to update, but i'm glad that people enjoy it, and get a feel for who he was as a person.
