The sound is pretty good in my opinion on SMS but I don't have a real technical production ear.

I think you can order some stuff from his site....if you click on the discography and the albums it will link you to a place to buy them, including the DLR stuff.

Some sound clips there as well.

His myspace page might be more updated though.

Well, after listening to Speed Metal Symphony & Go Off! again, I would say that the sound quality isn't actually that bad, it's just that the guitar tone is a bit weird and nothing compared to todays guitar tones (obviously...it was 21 years ago...).

But Jason's solo album, Perpetual Burn is definitely something to listen to.

His best song with David Lee Roth, in my opinion, is Drop In The Bucket. Everything in that song is incredible.

If I remember correctly, there is another one that had the colored pickups and I think it had a Wilkinson or some other non-locking tremolo.

Not sure if it's still there or not, but there's a Peavey copy of Jason's guitar in the Hard Rock Cafe here in Chicago. (It was in the gift shop, outside wall) It was kind of disheartening standing there and hearing someone say, "Jason Becker, who's that?"

          Perpetual Burn is orgasmic.

My favorite song off the DLR album is definitely 'It's Showtime', the solo on that one is fucking killer.
