1st... I didn't come up and bitch at him after a show. He came up to me before the show and we were just talking.
As you mentioned about caring.... I really don't particularly care what "you" think was the issue either, since you weren't there, you don't have much of a clue what happened and it's silly of you to fabricate his reasoning with your know all attitude. I'm a pretty experienced sort of guy and I know what happened. And man, you talk as if i'm some naive stupid youngster fan whining. Ugh...
And I definitely dont take it personally and I don't judge him. He was one of my fav players and still is. Love that guys' playing.
Basically, I suppose that if you don't like my view I suppose you can leave too. I don't really need or care for your input.
I've been in the biz for 25 years and I truly understand the situation of touring on new material, trust me on that. I also figure he needs to placate his audience and sell some merch for gas to get home one as well. They might come back next tour if he does ok. I'll figure he lost some people that night.
From the screams I could hear all night, most of the people in the audience paid to see him doing the material he was famous for when he DI get airplay. I figure he needs to work a bit for the working class people that are truly who made him what he is and throw them a bone with what they want and not play obscure stuff stuff all night that sends them to the bar for a drink to wait for something familiar. It's that simple. LOTS of pro 80s acts learned that and tour heavily old material. Iron maiden, Queensryche, King Diamond, Slayer, the list goes on and on. His crowd, like most of this board, is stuck in the 80s or so. Capitalize on it and have fun.
