google is your friend, but suffice it to say, their products generally suck, but a lot less than their business practices. They have screwed many small time business owners and many people in general. That is not to mention the general musician out of money, who is not very cable savy.

I remember him saying he got rid of his Line 6 as they unreliable. I know one went up on eBay, but he had two. I'm guessing one was beyond repair.

He had MANY issues with the Line 6. I don't think either of them completely blew up, but I've heard rumors that one was "destroyed" out of serious frustration.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

200 dollar HDTV cables that are the same quality as ones you can get for 10 bucks on the internet (The cables were tested and they produced the same quality image). Not guitar-related but still a valid point.

Yes, in the end, it's just a question of money.

He said it flat when he left ESP for Dean...it was a "business decision" and he had nothing against ESP guitars and the people who worked there.

The only time cable quality would mean anything with a digital signal is if you're going over very long lengths (like over 100'). But of course the $30-$50 Monster cables are the same as the $20-$30 other brand cables (or the $5-$10 generic cables). It's the same reason that name bands cost more than the store brand, even though most of them are made in the same factories.

I purchased HDMI cables from off the net for six bucks each and they are the same quality or better then the Moster HDMI cables that Best Buy sells for 60-80 bucks. Now they don't have fancy packaging or a nice name stenciled on the cable but don't think either of those items are worth the $50+ premium.

Yep, 1s and 0s don't care about cable quality. If there's a signal, it's on, if no signal it's off.

Analog cables are a different story, and there spending more money actually does get you quality.

The only reason I bought two Monster cables is was because they get replaced for free no matter what if they break. I bought one guitar cable, used it for about 2 years, it broke, I brought it back and got a new one no questions asked, and I've been using that one for about two years.

Basically if you pay more, you have a cable forever as long as you don't lose it.

And Dave Mustaine is stupid. I would rather play a Crate than a Line6 and that's not saying much. Maybe that'll be Dave's next endorsement!

Dave's a very talented guy, but I've never thought of his tone as anything I'd want to emulate.

Why not? Marty used to be endorsed by Crate and played the Blue Voodoo. I had a BV60 head that sounded very good.

+1. I will hold my USA Made Crate Vintage Club 60 against ANY amplifier $1500 and under for what it does. Each channel has it's own tone controls and PCB, so one channel sounds like a classic Tweed Fender, while the other sounds like a JCM900.

It doesn't sound like my JCM900

Don't worry James Hetfield is a Line 6 endorser. I just read somewhere is using Line 6 amps as well. http://www.line6.com/artists/175/

I kind of liked those Blue Voodoo heads too. They were noisy.
