They were good. Jakes dry tone was pretty cool on that 1st record.
8 strings? Because 6 is too easy?

Who's Dennis Martin? There was Eric Singer and then Jeff Martin.

          And Badlands ruled!!!!

Ray had one of the best rock voices IMO...He sounded even better when he did metal!

Check out his version of "The Shining". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXukw...eature=related

Well that is easy to figure out, back then it was all about 80's hair metal and badlands was just a great rock band, almost classic rock. Besides us guitarists no one really appreciated it.

Funny thing is I think they could have made it eventually later, but then if i remember right the lead singer died of AIDS.

                    K. I wasn't sure if maybe there was a drummer named Dennis I didn't know about.

DAMN...I wish they recorded "The Eternal Idol" properly, with Ray...Even the shitty demos sound better with Ray singing...Such a musical, dynamic voice....Too damn bad!

And the live Sabbath recordings with him are great too...He just nails the Dio stuff!
"Children of the Sea", live with Ray Gillen at Hammersmith Odeon on 6/2/1986. Enjoy!
