Oh yeah I think you are right about that! Now that I think about it, that was stated on RC.net
Wonder what they were modeled after? Anderson still in business?
How about WD? probably Duncans of some sort I'm thinking.
Thanks Neilli

The new Warren modles have a SD Warren signature pup. How it differs from a JB im not sure. But i would venture a guess and say its probably a warmer sweeter versin of the JB like the old ones from the 80's as apposed to the current production ones.

Warren's signature pickup comes in his Charvel signature model. I heard it's supposed to be like a suped up JB but with an alnico 2 magnet instead of alnico 5. You can buy them separately. Hell, you can order a pickup from their custom shop to any specs you want.
I have a couple of the custom Warren "RTM" pickups from Duncan. Great sounding pup. To me it sounds like a JB on steriods. And yes, you can order them separately. Nick from Piney Hills can hook you up. Give him a shout - he's a good guy to deal with.
And by a JB on steroids what exactly do you mean? Output or the EQ section or both?
What does the WD offer that the JB doesn't provide or vice versa?
Also, are the stock WD's 2 or 4 conductor?

Here's the specs that I got from Nick when I ordered my RTM, if this helps:
D.C. Resistance: 17.6 KOhms
Resonant Peak: 4.40 KHz
Magnet Type: Alinco 2 bar
Inductance: 8.83 Henry
I'm not a big fan of the JB. I have a few guitars with a JB in it but my preference is a Duncan custom. Best way I can describe the RTM is brighter and more articulate. Everyone who has tried my DeMartini blood drip and brown python comments about the great tone from this pickup. Definitely give one a try. As for the conector, I don't remember the conductor, sorry. But as a consolation prize, here's a pic of the back on my pickup which was signed by both Warren and Seymour Duncan. Pretty cool bonus!
