I hope that everyone will take a moment to remember Criss Oliva tonight/tomorrow. It will be 15 years since his tragic and untimely death at the hands of a drunk driver at 3:30 am tonight/tomorrow morning Florida time.

Criss has made a tremendous impact on my guitar playing, to say the least.

His crowds will never be gone.

The only album I own with Chris Oliva was Savatage's Gutter ballet and its one of my all time favs.

WTF??!! I was listening to EOT today..haven't heard that in a long time. It was his last and his best IMO. I always wished his bro was on that. I'm sure Jon feels the same! Criss was just getting started. I often wonder what we missed in those 15 years. Criss was Savatage and TSO...if he had the chance.

Dint he used to play a white Charvel?

Criss used to play a bunch of Charvels and Jacksons. The one that he is probably best known for is his "Gargoyle Jackson" which is actually an ESP that was re-badged as Jackson. The white Charvel you are probably speaking of is the one that is featured on the inside sleeve of Streets. It's a white Charvel wrapped in roses. (Trans-Siberian Orchestra uses this image extensively, I believe it's in homage to Criss who, would probably be a big part of TSO if he were alive today) That guitar actually was one of Criss' guitars. It is a Predator with a Legend neck. Criss has also been seen playing several stock Predators.

Sadly, I heard somewhere that Criss was actually planning on a switch to Dean.

Horrible and avoidable tragedy. We lost a great musician. Criss was the total package as a guitarist - great player, great tone, and above all an incredible songwriter. Not many out there that possess all three.

Did Chris play on the "Hall of the Mountain King" album? That's one of my fav Savatage albums. "Gutter Ballet" is another good one.

Criss was everything from Sirens to Edge of Thorns..so yes.
