A Dinky Rhoads is effectively an XTRR, but that name wasn't 'coined' until 2001 or so. However, Spitz's guitars are a slightly different shape to the production XTRRs. I thought Dan basically had a Rhoads, told Jackson to cut off the bevels and then rebevel it.

Oh wow, that is so cool! I never knew that. Did you see my lefty Rhoads project that I posted? It's a KV body with the lower wing cut down to resemble a Rhoads.
I prefer it having a shorter upper wing rather than a full size Rhoads. edit: So mine is basically an XTRR? Someone said that, bu tI thought they meant because I was using a reverse headstock.
...now i know and knowing's half the battle....Go Joe!!! LOL

Well yeah, that's more or less what Shannon told me when I was getting my TMNT guitar made. Basically, I was told that Spitz ordered a 'small' rear loaded RR, and the way they did it was to cut the bevels off. BUT as you can see, that can only have applied to the top wing, not the lower.Originally posted by toejam View Post
