I think J5 is awesome! Great player and very diverse in his musical knowledge.

With his sig model and the Jim Root model, teles aren't just for Merle Haggard and lead singers who think they're rhythm players anymore....

hahahaha, yeah, THAT's what i'm talking about....my tele has that type of tone - well, once i changed the pickups. but i didn't put humbuckers in it...just an SD 1/4 pounder tele set. it beefed it up while retaining the twang. FATEST sounding guitar EVER while retaining clarity.....

actually, what got me on a tele kick was when i went and hung out with shawn (he used to be on here a lot - has a GREAT collection) at his place. i was playing all these awesome guitars then we started talking about stuff that wsan't J/C....then he busted out with his fenders. i have CS strats so i wasn't impressed, but he pulled out this tele - i don't even know if it was CS or what, but it was butterscotch with the blk pickguard...

anyway, plugged that thing in to one of his cool amps (don't remember which one he has a few killer ones)..and i was BLESSED with the most awesome sound ever!!! ijust started laughing - and jamming and ripping it up...

i went and bought one a week later!!!
