Sorry, the Little Wing did nothing for me. Although smooth, and a great player..really lost the essence of the song to me.

I agree with guitarsjb, the kid kicked ass but his version of Little Wing didn't do much for me. Two items I did appreciate were the use of more than one pickup and that he didn't pick every note.

To be fair, no, I can't play the way this guy in the video does. To be even more fair you can go to just about any Guitar Center and find a teenager (or younger) who can play way faster than me. I'm an old fart who (musically) expresses himself differently; my opinions are not a judgment of the players character or technical abilities. I liked the kid, but the first clip sucked. The guy has the same shred technique that a million guys have...me excluded, yet managed to suck all of the soul out of Little Wing which is tough to do. He also had zero timing. I like shred, but I would rather have no shred and see something played well with groove and soul. That had nothing. Tricks are great when they fit the song, but when you are rushing through parts of the song just to fit them in and it ruins the song....leave them out.

He is technically great. There are so many players out there that can play like that. Its staggering. I wonder how good he can improvise and I also wonder how he sounds without all the tricks and guitar gymnastics.
