For all intents and purposes, he was on his way out, so why should Jackson have kept him as a Top Tier Artist when he wasn't actively promoting the brand on tour?

And it's not like he doesn't still have dozens of Jacksons left! Yes he sold off a few, but where's his Arizona Flag V? I'm supposed to believe he ditched all his Jacksons? I doubt it.

As far as I'm concerned he can stay with Dean and play his dots+fins KV copies, and whatever that aborted fetus he "designed". More like "I saw it in my puke".
Don't hold anything back Newc, how do you REALLY feel?
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

I thought he was playing ESP?
8 strings? Because 6 is too easy?

After leaving Jackson, he was with ESP, but he's been with Dean for at least a year now.

With all due respect Newc, I sometimes think people "like" bashing Mustaine

I'm a die-hard Megadeth / Mustaine fan and I can say I know pretty much about Megadeth and it was down to 1 free guitar from 11 guitars..

Even 11-6 is not acceptable. Moreover there is a lot more to it than getting free guitars IMO. It's also a prestige thingy for example. If I were the founding member of Megadeth, I would like to get more than 1 guitar from my endorser, the opposite would be a shame

As for the thread subject, I can say I also think he will be back to Jackson eventually..

I too heard that it was down to 1 guitar/year. What a shame

Maybe he'll try to buy Dean

Love Mustaine's playing and his Jacksons. In some regard it would be nice to see him back with the company as it's quite obvious his ESP and Dean guitars were made to be as close to his Jackson's as possible without getting sued.

                      But him owning Jackson?

                      NO.

Could only imagine the revolving door of employees/luthiers going through there if Mustaine was running the show.

I think Mustaine's reputation for being an extremely difficult person to work/deal with is not something Jackson Guitars would benefit from.

Lado is for sale. He could buy Lado, and turn them into a much bigger company in a very short time.

Seriously, what would Mustaine know about running a guitar company? No thanks.

I doubt he would seriously want to actually run it himself. He would just want to own it. Running a company the size of Jackson would be a huge pain in the ass for an actively touring/recording musician.

I read an interview with him, and he said the same thing: He went from 11-12 guitars down to 1 guitar per year.
He also said that when/if he comes back to Jackson, that he's proposing that they get rid of the King V model numbers except for his KV1 only.
He also said that he wants to have all of his old guitar re-issued.

I'm not sure if he meant just a basic production KV1 or those along with special colors and graphic like he's played throughout his career with Jackson.

If he does come back, the plus side for him if they re-issued his old guitars is that atleast he's "get back" some of the Jacksons that he sold.

I hope that he does come back, because he sold alot of guitars for Jackson over the years, so he has done them alot of good, despite some slow periods in his career.
Robbin Crosby and Mustaine are the 2 guys who made me want a King V, so I "owe" alot to them for that, cause I love that body shape.

On a side note, it would be cool for Dave to be the owner of Jackson, it doesn't really matter to me if he does or doesn't because in my opinion FMIC has done a great job with Jackson in the last 6-7 years, so as long as there's a quality product, I'll be a buyer.

I'd love to see him back with Jackson. I don't know about him owning Jackson, but it would definitely be beneficial to Jackson as far publicity.

Regardless of whether he's an asshole or not Dave Mustaine has quite a crowd, wherever he goes shitloads of people follow. Thus if he goes to Jackson a lot of people will follow.
