  • neo classical with out the keyboards

Can anyone give me some names of guitar driven neo classical bands with out keyboards? I'm really only interested in hearing guitar bass and drums and vocals i guess but mostly the guitar stuff. Seems like all the neo classical i hear always has a thick cover of synth keyboards over it and i'm not really into that.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Malmsteens guitar sound is way out in front. You can hear every single note and nuance. Especially Rising Force and Marching Out. Listen to Uli Jon Roth too. His guitar sound is way out in front in the mix.

      I've never heard what you're looking for.....ever.
I doubt if it exists, they all have keyboards.

My favorites are Pagan's Mind and Symphony X.
If you've yet to hear them definitely check them out.
Currently at 78 guitars - Paul Reed Smith, Jackson, Robin, Washburn, Carvin, Peavey, U.S. Masters, G&L, Hamer, Godin, BC Rich, Yamaha, Fender, ESP, Kramer, Cort, Ibanez, Aria Pro & Charvel

Celestial Entrance is my favorite so far.
It also has the best sounding production I've ever heard on a metal release.

          Here's a video from it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MwrAf83FDg

George Bellas, theres keyboards, but they are not dominant - you won't notice them behind the unhuman shred fest.

that Pagans Mind was sounding great until the singer, i couldn't take 5 seconds more of it.

Greatest song of all time? I think so.
                  "Dear Dr. Bill,
I work with a woman who is about 5 feet tall and weighs close to 450 pounds and has more facial hair than ZZ Top." - Jack The Riffer

I think Joe Stump is really worth checking out, though his solo recordings are without any vocals. Some of his band efforts (Reign of Terror, in particular) have featured little to no keyboards.

Here's a youtube clip of Joe doing a live solo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOJeQ-0ZmFs

By the way, he's heck of a nice guy. I've emailed him a few times with questions and he's always written back. He even mailed me some picks several years ago.

I used to be into really into playing keyboards and the latest advances, but now that I'm older I agree that alot of times synths can sound cheesy and harsh when compared to "natural" instruments( there's actually some math/tuning reason for this)

But a B3!!!!! (Deep Purple, Rainbow etc.,) that's Gods favorite instrument!!! and pretty organic sounding

But to answer your question, I can't think of any but now that you mention it I would like to hear some

It's not so much that I don't like keyboards- i do- but I've noticed with a few bands the synth is there as fill noise and in some cases the guitar and keyboards just sound muddled together.

I'll try to find an example of what i'm talking about
