I got turned on to this album through Pandora- If you guys don't use it, I highly suggest signing up. Great service. I've been introduced to a few bands because of it. And it's free.

Play the songs, albums, playlists and podcasts you love on the all-new Pandora. Sign up for a subscription plan to stream ad-free and on-demand. Listen on your mobile phone, desktop, TV, smart speakers or in the car.

I ended up downloading the album (a Maiden cover album) because this came on my Maiden station:

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Now, it's Chris Jericho (the wrestler) singing, and I can take him or leave him. But instrumentally, the intro just kills. When the guitarist broke into his run at the beginning I was like, "OK, who the F is that". Paul Gilbert, no surprises. Guy's a killer.

But you get a bit more into the album and it's just kinda fun. OK, Dee Snider on Wasted Years? Not bad. But Lemmy on The Trooper? Obviously NOTHING like the original but it just kicks ass.

Chuck Billy on Fear of the Dark, Michael Effin' Schenker on Run to the Hills.... Hey, it's worth your $10.

Most of the songs are on You Tube if you want to preview em.

        I love Schenker.

        I love Maiden.

        I'm not sure I love Schenker-does-Maiden....

I have that one and "Maiden Heaven" which is a newer tribute album. There's alot of nice covers on that one.

I also have another Maiden tribute album called "Slave to the Power".
The best Maiden covers I've ever heard are Ripper Owens doing the "Flight of Icarus", and Dofka doing "Powerslave".
Primal Fear doing "2 minutes to midnight" fuckin rules!!
I think I have one more as well, but I cant remember the cd title at the moment.

You hear that all chick band called "The Iron Maidens" yet? They are actually really good.
Singer's name is Bruce Chickinson, and the rest have names like: Nikki McBrain, Adriana Smith, Stephanie Harris, I forget the Dave Murray one..

Hehe I have checked out some YouTubes of the Iron Maidens. They do a nice job.

I have been looking to score Maiden Heaven on Ebay. I meant to buy the Kerrang it came in but just completely forgot.

It is worth checking out for sure, but alot of the covers on there are changed up and not 100% true to their original form. Which could be a good or bad thing.
I generally dont like when bands butcher a classic song, but in this case it's not that bad...

Joe that's a good one for sure.
I like Solitude Aeturnus's version better:

Rob Lowe has an amazing voice!!
For those who are unfamiliar this is a band that I've been into for a long time and they are worth checking out.
                  They're from Austin,TX and they're a Doom Metal band.
Rob Lowe is the singer on the new Candlemass album, and he also has a side project called "Concept of God"
I have all of the Solitude Aeturnus albums, their lateest one is called "Alone"
They're huge Sabbath/Dio fans and you can hear it for sure. They did a cover of "Heaven and Hell" and "No More Tears" as well.(Cant find No More Tears on youtube though), and Dio's "Shame on the Night"
                  Heaven and Hell:

Checked out the CoF....the voice is unique, but I can't do it for long. Instrumentally they're pretty damn good. Like what they did.

MetalChurch- Thanks for helping me burn my iTunes giftcard. Any albums from them you'd suggest as being better than others?

IIRC, didn't Children of Bodom do a Maiden Cover too... Fear of the Dark maybe?

EDIT: Sorry, turns out they did a couple...
