          ....I still love Metallica!

Great post! I've not heard a LOT of the originals before with the exception of the Misfits stuff.

The more Diamond Head I hear, the more I realize how much Metallica ripped them off.

One of the rare moments where James uses his Jackson guitar (KV).

              Great post !

Budgie & Diamond Head both are worth a listen. I should grab their albums. Wonder if they're on iTunes.

Lodi NJ's own Misfits.... so simple but fun to listen to. Even their more recent stuff with Michael Graves was pretty good. Check out Saturday Night. So simple, but it just grows on you...the difference between the song style & the lyrics is hysterical. Sounds like a 50's teen angst love song, except about murder.

"There's 52 ways to murder anyone...one and two are the same, and they both work as well".

"But the back seat of the drive in is so lonely without you!" followed by a creepy, out of place, "I know when you're home!"

Maybeeee....I'll beeee...over... just as soon as I fill them all in"

                Cracks me up.

Huh? He didn't post Metallica's version. Though, here is the Metallica version with James playing the Jackson V.

I always try to listen to the original after I've heard a cover. Although it normally works the other way ! You know the original and then someone covers it(for example; quite riot and that gay english song).
