When my daughter was young, her and I used to sing in my truck the "California" song from Cantrell's Boggy Depot. Now she's 16 and once in a while asks if I still have that song so she can put it on her ipod. I always forget to give it to her.

Thank you for the gear info, that answers alot of my questions. Some of that I used to know, but it's been a long time...

              Thoughts on their recording philosophy?

I know that some bands in that era were dissing the digital in favor of the analog.
Sort of related, I specifically remember Billy Corgan's thoughts on digital.
I have three AIC albums on vinyl. As well as some Soundgarden, Pantera, Pearl Jam.
              Great stuff.

Opinions, maybe some facts to clear this up?

I have a really cool live bootleg DVD. It's an entire show. I'd post it up, but I wouldn't know where to host it.

I pretty much play AIC every day.

I bought Facelift and Sap. Got kind of tired of them after that. Mind you, I've never been known for my taste in music, so take that for what you will.

"Sea of Sorrow" is my fave by them.

i saw them twice; in 91 on the clash of the titans tour. i got the tape on the way to the show to check them out, and i have been hooked since.

then i got to see them again later in the tour with van halen. they got a cold reception, but put on a great show.

i'm eagerly anticipating the forthcoming release and hope that they make their way to the southeast for those of use who remember.

that's fucking cool that Grohl was in their studio with them.

                        new stuff sounds great.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

I and good friend Eric (Archtop) went to see Extreme (lol) play back in 1990.
At the time, we had no idea who the opening act was so we skipped it and showed up late.
Years later, I'm sure we both would have rather seen AIC. Depressing memory to have missed the opportunity.

AK47... see. now you're really doing something

i think they could be even better than before with william duvall (mind you with layne they fuggin ruled) he adds something to them, but doesn't take away from layne's impact. can't wait for the new stuff... sounds heavy, dark, and passionate. awesome

This was someone elses video. I did not make it. They took it off Youtube many months ago I am just reuploading it. If it is yours I will take it down just ask.

Metallica makes fun of Layne Staley and gets owned.
1994 Metallica Summer Sh*t tour. This was my only time for me to get see Alice in Chains live and they cancelled the tour. On top of that Candlebox replaced ...

Dont know why but my Youtube ID ended up being a Layne tribute channel so I have to get a new channel for my other crap now.

I started this channel so fans of Layne Staley can see what he was really like as a person when he was alive. I found it frustrating as a fan that a lot of information regarding his life was suppressed one way or another because of other people's agendas. Layne had been working on a book titled "Self Portrait" as well as a solo album which did not involve Mad Season or Alice in Chains. People assume that he just withdrew and used drugs after 96. He was unable to move forward with his solo album because he "allegedly" lacked support from his label and former bandmates. His contract with Sony "allegedly" did not allow him to move forward with many of his projects. I take it this is what Layne referred to as his "Corporate Prison" I hope you enjoy my Layne Staley channel. -EXPcustom

everyone knows i love this band more than myself.
They're all exceptional but i gotta go with Dirt as my favorite.
Although, I've put on headphones during Jar of Flies and actually felt like i was on heroin. Imagine what it was like when i really was.
