You guys should REALLY check out their old band CAPHARNAUM. Great metal with a lot of Death influence. I dislike Trivium with a passion, but these dudes shred when they were in Capharnaum.

That was a pretty near-sighted comment.

Check the Jackson website artist page. Looks like (I'm assuming here) that both Corey and Matt have signed on as the band is listed as endorsed.

Personally I'm excited as hell about this. Trivium (I don't give a f_ck what anyone says) have become my favorite band.

If I'd be a metal musician I wouldn't give a fuck who gave me a better deal... I'd play what I like.... gotta love the irony of what metal has become

But if you're only making $100 a week, wouldn't you want to have some free guitars? Musicians, especially the level of Trivium, are not making that much money and if a deal comes along that would let them eat three meals on Sunday, then I can't blame them for taking it.

You see, they make decent money from touring.
Endorsement deals which guarantee you a lot of free guitars and even money are usually given to artists who make a lot more than 100 bucks a week... because they are popular.... unpopular artists don't get good deals.
Some dudes are changing their endorsements companies so often... just to get the best deal... the biggest amount of free guitars etc. I understand but isn't metal suppose to be against that? And besides when you get so many free instruments from one company.... you only need a couple of them for the touring. And in the studio you are gonna use many different guitars from many different brands anyway... It's very common that the artist doesn't use any of those instruments which he is endorsing.

For example I would do brand whoring and other shit freely because I don't associate myself with metal ideology... but who state they are true metal or something like that and whore for free guitars and other goodies then they are just plain posers

Ah, I see your point now. I think the whole anti-establishment "metal attitude" has disappeared, and it's more just a style of music now.

it has been that way since the 90's. i don't recall many anti-establishment bands after metallica and slayer started getting signature guitars. metal is a lifestyle to VERY few musicians these days....it is ONLY a style of music.

i was in bands during the birth of the tampa death metal scene. glen benton, trey azagoth (or whatever), the guys in nasty savage - ALL of them lived in filth and squaller - we used to make fun of them because they were SOOOO into the "lifestyle" that they looked and acted like clowns. all their gear was taped together or was solid state crap amps from the 70's with cheap $25.00 rocktek distortion pedals. when we would play club shows with these guys it was a laugh.

we weren't much better off, but being a bit younger we lived at home (we were in HS) with mommy and daddy. most of them lived in single wide trailers filled with beer cans and cigarette butts....

ha, trivium is from a part of orlando that is so nice i can't believe those guys aren't in a boy band. not questioning their LOVE for metal, but the metal "lifestyle"? that's been dead forever.....

yes, "the metal lifestyle" has been gone for many years... but my grief is that so many still claim to live that way but in reality they are just the opposite... that's what amuses me... there were so many of those dudes in OC... spoiled kids living in their parents mansions in Newport Beach... private schools, sport cars etc. but all of sudden they claim to be true metal and street... it's just funny that's all... If I'd be rich like them I wouldn't hide my wealth behind "evil metal labels"

Metal is about music - we're not fucking hippies! Take all you can get I say.

My comment wasn't near-sighted as it was hopeful that they wouldn't be the taint of my favourite guitar manufacturer. Looks like they are, awesome!

I don't claim to be "metal". I'm a regular person that just happens to listen to music that would terrify the average person (If they could understand the vocals that is).
