Yngwie is one of the... if not the most loyal Stratocaster player of all time.
He has single handidly helped Fender sell hundreds of thousands of strats. He is regarded as one of the best guitarists in the world and has always played a strat.
Yngwie has done more for marketing the Fender strat then Clapton, Johnson and Hendrix combined and after all these years he still kills on guitar and still plays a Fender Strat. Talk about loyalty. You negative guys are way off base on this one.
I didn't see anybody bashing the "signature model Rhoads Marshall" or the new Clapton strat they just came out with. Gimme a break.

Heh, I think Malmsteen is awesome. But poking fun at him with donuts etc pictures when he was fat is still way too easy...

Anyone see him on 'That metal show' on VH1 classic. he looked a little heavy to me. as far as the guitar. Buy a Squire, tie it to the bumper of your car with about fifteen foot of rope, drive around the neighborhood and when you return you will have something similar and a lot of extras cash in your pocket.

Totally true on the loyalty, and that's pretty rare, isn't it?

But wow, you really think Yngwie had wanna-be shredders jonesing for Strats? Every Yngwie-loving guitarist I've ever bumped into his been a Charvel/Jackson/Ibanez/ESP sort of cat. I always found it strange that a Strat was his choice, but it definitely made him stand out in that field!

It's confirmed! Yngwie fucked Endrik's girlfriend! And maybe Endrik was jealous because HE wanted the Viking Strat-God for himself!

Well, Yngwie actually endorsed Aria Pro II when in Alcatrazz, and did play them live, so he did step away for money at an early date.

And I think the Marshall Rhoads "signature" model is grave-robbing at its ugliest. They didn't give a rat's ass about him when he was alive, but now they concocted some story about a prototype. I don't believe that shit.

If the amp sounds good and Delores gets a cut, I guess that's good. But I don't believe their story or they'd have come out with this amp in 1983.

Man, look what Dean has done with Dime's name to sell guitars, THAT is serious grave robbing right there. And then for Krank amps to jump on the bandwagon and try to sell an amp that the guy never actually played before he died... fuck them.

But I digress, I'm not a YM fan, but he's a guitar legend. His strat has been through hell and back with him. I saw a video about the making of this guitar, and something like 100 hours goes into hand copying each replica from the original. I remember YM saying that they did such a good job of it that at first he couldn't tell the difference.

$12.5k, maybe a bit much, but then again you're buying so much more than a beat up guitar.

UFO: you're right about Dime. I hope his family is getting kick backs for everything that is being sold in his name - assholes.

Anyway, I am a diehard Yngwie fan (). I had a door poster of his Rising Force album when I was in high school. If you get a chance, take a listen of the symphony he wrote a few years back...pretty cool. He is synonomous with Strats. Except for Alcatraz, I've never seen him without one. BTW, George Lynch started with an Aria Pro II as well. If some crazy rich fan/collector wants to buck up $12.5k, all the power to them. Keep in mind, EVH's Frankenstein MSRP is $25k . I've seen it on Ebay for $17.5k, but that's a different story. The fact that they make it look excatly like his present guitar is awesome. The signature/special models you see coming out from other musicians are basically the same components of their guitar, not down to the finish and stickers, etc. of the Yngwie model. So, Yngwie fans rejoice or cry, but I think it's pretty cool.
Yesterday is history; tomorrow is a mystery; but today is a gift; that's why it is called the present.

yeah, sorry... I'm just having too much of a good time. The hypocrisy amuses me around here.... some dudes are defending capitalism at all cost in political threads but when some famous artist sells their stuff which is more expensive than their musikraft mutts then their panties get awfully tight and all hell is broken loose... and the comments those artists get aren't only about their money hunger... it's also about their poor social and financial status. Yeah, like someone is forcing them to buy all that stuff.

Gotta love Yngwie, he can sell his dirty socks for a mil for what I care... but I'm not gonna hold back in this thread. The viking is going down... I wanna stab the motherfucker... money, money, money, the knife in your neck is funny.. da da da da daaaa!

The YJM tribute Strat was featured in this months issue of Guitar Player Magazine and got an excellent review.
