I'm not a big Yngwie fan, but I think it's a cool guitar, and a cool idea for his fans with money.
I'd be happy with a cheaper MIM Fender, and try to relic it myself if I was that big a fan.
Even if I was I'd still be wanting a stacked humbucker in the bridge - his rythm tone sucks hugely.

Well, Yngwie actually endorsed Aria Pro II when in Alcatrazz, and did play them live, so he did step away for money at an early date.

And I think the Marshall Rhoads "signature" model is grave-robbing at its ugliest. They didn't give a rat's ass about him when he was alive, but now they concocted some story about a prototype. I don't believe that shit.

If the amp sounds good and Delores gets a cut, I guess that's good. But I don't believe their story or they'd have come out with this amp in 1983.

Here is the correct Yngwie story... when he first made it his first 2 endorsements were from Crate and Aria. He took the Crate endorsement strictly for the exposure and he took the Aria endorsement because it was the first company to approach him. When Fender stepped up to the plate he dropped Aria. Rumour has it that Fender was developing a signature strat with Yngwie's help all during that time. Bottom line... Yngwie has been a dedicated supporter and endorsed player of Fender strats for 20-25 years now with no end in sight. Have you ever seen his collection?? Its staggering. Most of his guitar collection is Fender Stratocasters.

Yeah, Yngwie has remained pretty true to his guitars and amps. While everyone in the eighties was jumping on the latest rack gear and multi-effects units, Yngwie was scarfing up all of the soon to be vintage Marshall heads (and pizzas and doughnuts). He has quite the collection of vintage Marshalls.

Sorry about that. I am a big Yngwie fan. My wife even listened (listens) to Yngwie and only remembers his pictures from the 80's. The first time she saw up to date pictures, she nonchalantly asked me "Did he eat the band?"!!!

yeah, sorry... I'm just having too much of a good time. The hypocrisy amuses me around here.... some dudes are defending capitalism at all cost in political threads but when some famous artist sells their stuff which is more expensive than their musikraft mutts then their panties get awfully tight and all hell is broken loose... and the comments those artists get aren't only about their money hunger... it's also about their poor social and financial status. Yeah, like someone is forcing them to buy all that stuff.

I've ALWAYS found the people I knew that were basically communist thinking and capitalist hating, were the most greedy fucks I've EVER seen when it came to something "they" happened to have or a service they could perform and wanted to sell it.

That said, I think that's nuts money for a guitar, and I seriously like YJM. VERY nice guy when I met with him and an awesome player that I am always amazed with live.

But, hey, They should go for it if they think they can sell it. Is it worth that much? Not to me, but obviously it is to some people. So, to them, it's worth that much.

I think I have to pose the question who is the driver behind these crazy prices? Wasn't Stevie Ray's "Lenny" priced at about $15,000. I think the artist definitely get their cut, but I believe it is the Fender marketing machine that decides the price. I wouldn't be surprised if you could actually contact Yngwie and buy a strat directly from him for cheaper!!!

I think of it this way... my 2 favorite guitarists are Malmsteen and Roth
Roth's sky guitar is around 37K I think....
That makes Malmsteen's 15K strat a real bargain in my book.
