    THIS would be the one.

The 50th Anniversary of Miles Davis' Kind of Blue is a very historic event. Legacy Recordings is releasing a Collector's Edition Box set on September 30 to ...

What can I say, the ultimate, I never get tired of it. And my favorite track off of that album?
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

I can't think of any bigger dream team line-up than Kind Of Blue had, Teo Macero really captured the magic... Miles with his godlike tone, Trane with his shit hot runs, Chambers and Cobb swinging like motherfuckers but to me Bill Evans stood out the most. This album really shows why he is one of the greatest pianists ever... and by far my favorite. The way he incorporated impressionistic ideas with jazz is beyond genius.

I think one of the reasons they were able to create this cool jazz is because of their constant traveling in Europe and getting influences from the old world. Specially Debussy, Ravel and other French Impressionists ideas by Evans and the magic which Miles found in Spanish music, specially in Rodrigo's compositions and in flamenco.
You get this cool and though New York vibe mixed with Southern European colors and relaxation.

Ugh. I know Kind of Blue is a classic jazz album ,but I just can't get into that era of jazz. Too out there for me I think.

As far as my one album to own...that's tough. I have albums that I can't live without for months at a time and then I put them in one day and I'm just tired of it.

I guess right now I'd choose Opeth - Watershed. But there are so many others I'd be perfectly happy with.

8 strings? Because 6 is too easy?

for me it would be either Beethoven 5th, or Yngwey's Raising Force. Not trying to say that these are equal: I'd go for the 5th, unless we speak specifically about a rock cd.

As I couldn't possibly pick just one Beatles album, I'm going with a collection...I can't resist the vocal harmonies. I'd never tire of this one. In fact, I'm gonna go listen to it right now.

^ ah how could I forget about I&W. Fantastic album, Dream Theater's best IMO.

akoch: I thought about the 5th too, but it's just too short to justify it taking a whole album's spot. Throw in the 7th and I might change my vote.
