Yeah, it's a crutch now. And now he has a whammy bar on his new gibsons...run away!

Hey! I just had an idea, lets put Kirky Hamster and Zakky in the room together to record an album, pinch harmonics and wah pedal, what more do you need in music? Right? Am I Right? Wanna buy a gold watch? It's a role-X err Rolex I swear! No really. Have I mentioned the bridge for sale? Come on people! With every purchase we can throw in a pro-order form for the next guns and roses album!

sorry my skin is now crawling.

I remember zakk in the early 90's saying he didn't want a floyd because it was just another thing to learn.... I watch his instructional video and the guy knows his stuff, it's just... dunno.

I think what needs to happen is Zakk record music and Ozzy just come in to write lyrics. Or retire would be better.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Which, of course, is complete crap. Michael Romeo or Jeff Loomis would absolutely kick ass in Ozzy's band. Of course, they'd have to deal with the infamous Mrs. Osbourne and a singer who can no longer sing. The money would probably be good, though.

You'd think looking at the burned-out shell of Ozzy Osbourne every day on tour would convince Zakk to straighten up and fly right, but I guess some people don't get it.

As for Jake, I'd love to see him back with Ozzy, but I'm sure that isn't going to happen.

Jake and Ozzy are on speaking terms, and Jake has been asked in the past to tour with Ozzy and has turned him down on a few times. I know this from a few reliable sorces.

I just dont think Jake has the fire anymore, I think between the drugs and losing Ray and all the personal stuff guitar has just taken back seat. This wouldnt surprize me as I know many guitarists from the 80's that were kick ass musicians that dont even play anymore, dont own a guitar or anything.

I never did understand how they could do that, have something such a huge part of there life and then just give it up without ever looking back.

But back to the topic, Jake playing with ozzy again will probaly never happen, Ozzy is almost done, Jake is not even a big fan of that type of music and I just do not see it ever happening as much as I would like, Jake and Randy were my two favorite ozzy guitarists.

That's where I jumped off too.
I like Zakk's playing actually, but can't take the image. There are plenty of guys out that can play well and don't come off as complete idiots.

I'd like to see Jake do a G3 type of show with Roth and Sykes.

It'd never happen, but hey, I can dream.

I'll start by saying.....I love Jake's writing and playing. Ozzy has always had a great guitarist in the fold. Each had their own thing. Randy was well....Randy. Nuff said there. Jake was a breath of fresh air Ozzy needed after Randy died. Just diffrent and edgy enough for the time and the music. Serious shred territory! Had Brad Gillis stuck around it would have been cool I guess, but Ozzy's career would not have continued climbing thru Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin. When Jake was replaced for whatever reason.....we weren't there so we don't "really" know the deal, Zakk auditioned and got the job. Rememberring playing on bills with his band, we always called him "that southern rock sounding guy who did a lot of Randy riffs and Jake squeals" and basically, that's what his calling card has been thru his career with Ozzy. Since leaving and coming back to I just think he doesn't take enough time to write his stuff (Black Label or Ozzy) so it actually becomes basic and almost lithargic at times. Don't get me wrong, there is some great stuff, but LOTS of filler. In my honest opinion, I think the best guitarist to play with Ozzy (after Randy of course)never got the chance to play on or write an album with him.... JOE HOLMES.

Not a lot of people realize Joe is also the player who replaced Jason Becker with David Lee Roth and played lead guitar for Lizzy Borden on the Visual Lies album and tour. Don't judge a book by it's cover with that album, they looked super-glam, but were more "shock" and seriously kicked ass. In my mind "Me Against the World" is a GREAT metal anthym. Most importantly, his guitar teacher was....you guessed it....Randy Rhoads.

                          Food for thought.......
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

I saw Joe play in place of Zakk on Ozzfest in '98 or '99. Didn't miss Zakk at all. Though, I still think Jake is the best player Ozzy ever had.

I saw Joe with Ozzy in '96 and he was aweful. His tone was very thin and shrill, and his playing was not good. I've heard others say he was great so I'm guessing that I caught him on a bad night. He didn't land that gig because he "couldn't" play.
