I haven't been able to listen to any of those songs all the way through. They sound tired. It's just bland formula rock. Satch has a better guitar tone than the usual buzzing bees thing.

Soap On a Rope is so bad. Corny riffs, lyrics that would even make Gene Simmons cringe for being so cheesy, predictable guitar solo, etc.

Folks were ragging on SG's lady friends song writing but you guys just heard this and think it's good:

"I got money, I got fame, fast cars and everything"
    ...
"Don't forget to drink your rock juice"
"Grab a toothbrush, soap, and a comb"

Holy crap, I think this stuff is actually worse than Sammy Hagar solo.

The song I heard, with the awful lyrics posted by Hippietim above, didn't do a lot for me to be honest and I've been really looking forward to hearing Satch (in my top 10 of guitarists) in a band setup. It sounded kinda boring and bland to me, and the solo was possibly the worst I've ever heard Joe play. Almost as if he was trying as hard as possible to get away from the Van Halen flashy solo thing.

But then I hated AC/DCs Thunderstruck when I first heard it, and ended up loving it so I'm gonna give this a chance.

I liked the stuff he played with Alice Cooper on the "Hey Stoopid" album. Been wanting to hear him with a full band setup (?) since as well. I'll probably buy the Chickenfoot album if I see it tho. I know I'll definitely give it a spin when I'm in the right mood for it

I could almost agree with you, but the formula has not been used in so many years that it feels fresh to me.

It's fun, VH style rock and roll that is sorely missing from the current airwaves.

With Chickenfoot, and the new Heaven and Hell album, it feels like the good times music is back.

This is just good time party rock...analyzing its "formula" completely misses the point. These guys aren't trying to break new ground, they're simply trying to put out a fun rock album. From what I've heard so far, they are succeeding...I'll buy it.

Exactly. That is what they said. They are having fun and just rocking. Why analyze that? Shit, if you go back and analyze most classic rock lyrics, we will have very little good music to listen to

Who was analyzing it? I couldn't stand listening to this crap long enough to analyze it. The tunes are completely unremarkable background music. The only hope left is that these are the filler songs and they're saving the good stuff for the album release.

The Gene Simmons line was funny, though!

Not quite the lyrics Sammy is singing, here we go:

Don’t forget to bring your rocking shoes
You grab a tooth brush, soap and a comb
And you can pick up a little taste get your favorite buzz on
And you can leave the rest at home, whoa! Uh! Yeah! Yeah!

Do you think Hendrix is singing "excuse me while I kiss this guy" too?

                            J/K'ing around

I have been listening to the 3 songs i got off the net a LOT lately and I think it's great! Hagar does sometimes have some iffy lyrics, but it's good time rock 'n roll, I don't expect Leonard Cohen or Dylan lyrics. Music can be fun again.

You guys are mistaking me literally typing what was going through my mind as the song was playing for an actual analysis. You guys are giving me way too much credit for thinking here.

I can not confirm or deny those lyrics, that would require listening again and that's not going to happen.

Absolutely. I don't even give a fuck about lyrics - I just think the songs suck. I actually only mentioned the lyrics because of SEEGERMANY's thread about some bad songwriting friends he's got - even though their lyrics were really bad, they were better than the Chicken Little songs.

And I actually like Gene Simmons stuff because it cracks me up:
"Plaster, caster, grab ahold of me faster" - now that shit is funny.
