I loved queensryche (still love anything before Promised Land) but I just cant get behind anything they've done since DeGarmo left. Promised land, and Here in the Now Frontier were not as good as previous stuff, but It was way better than the new crap. I really try to like anything new they put out, but it just isnt good enough.

I miss DeGarmo too. Thats what happened to them.
I actually like the new album, but I dont care for the first 4 or 5 songs on the beginning of the album. Not sure why, but it seems to pickup momentum or the mood of the album around #6.
I'd see them if they hit Pittsburgh or Greensburg again.'Howling in shadows
Living in a lunar spell
He finds his heaven
Spewing from the mouth of hell'

Maybe I'll get sex cause I took her out...maybe I won't be able to get it up after 2 hours of Queensryche.
But I know ALL the players.."Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"

Did I mention Tate fancies himself a sax player now?
Tough to justify the $50 for tix, but fun was had by all. And yes - that really is Tate's son-in-law playing 2nd guitar - all what seems 18 years-old of him...Crime doesn't pay. Neither does lutherie...

QR made four albums as far as I'm concerned. Promised land isn't a true QR album, but I can tolertae it when in the mood. Anything after that sucks IMO..
Just like Fates Warning after Disconnected...That was their "Promised Land". "FX" totally sucks balls."Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"

Just saw them last Sat at House of Blues.
Got to meet the band and everyone was very cool.
Geoffs vocals were still very much on point tho it lacked the uhmph..
Overall, it was for me, a monumental fulfillment of music of my past.
I completely enjoyed myslef!!
I should also note, that Tates, daughter came on stage and sang with him.. it was ok...Last edited by vwall; 05-27-2009, 04:45 PM.

I saw them a couple of weeks ago. I missed the first set, but caught the "Empire" set. I was impressed as hell... everything was spot on... the guitar solos, vocals, harmonies, everything. Very good band.
The only thing that I thought was lacking was the presentation... they aren't the most exciting band to watch.

They toured a few military bases recently and held cd signing sessions to support the "American Soldier" concept so I was able to meet them in that capacity. I can really appreciate what they were trying to accomplish with the album and give them props for recognizing our troops. On the other hand, the music didn't pull me in like older albums. I gave it an honest attempt but after the 2nd time spinning in my car's cd player I took it out and it hasn't been played since. Yes, I think Degarmo is the missing the ingredient.E = Fb
