  • Kate Bush's single world tour 30 years ago.

It's funny how pop stars are being judged by how many records they sell and to what audience they appeal and thus how quickly they can sell out arena's, the music itself is taking a back seat.

So when somebody like Kate Bush shows up with a totally unique sound and style, people were quick to go: "Okay, she's bringing something new to the plate but can she back it up? Can she do those elaborate songs of hers in a live section?"

To answer that, Kate Bush did one world tour, JUST ONE! a tour that took place during 1978-1979. The fact that Kate Bush was doing a world tour was world news, so much so that the rehearsals for that tour were recorded and broadcasted on prime TV.

And she delivered, silencing the critics forever. Here are a couple of clips from her tour when she played the Hammersmith Odeon.

After that Tour, Kate Bush did several live performances throughout the eighties but focused more on the recording of music and distanced herself from the public eye. Adding to her legend of a mysterious highly talented artist.

She doesn't do interviews anymore and keeps a low profile.

Still a very beautiful woman if you ask me.

I never really got into her, but remember Steve Harris talking about how great he thought she was.

                    Oh man, Kate Bush...
For any Briton who grew up in the '70s, she was the hottest of them all.
Friday mornings at school were often spent in an agony of sexual trauma, following the previous evening's performance on Top Of The Pops.
Her first couple of albums are wonderful, I wasn't so keen on the later stuff.
