**Edit** I just read Bills post after the fact. That's exactly what I'm talking about.
I understand stagnation and evolving but stay who you are man!!"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"

I could never get into bodom, they have some cool riffs and Alexi had some cool moments, but meh.

Love everything about the band, except the vocals. But I tolerate it to get to Alexi's solos
Sinergy is awesome.
No problem with Keys in Metal. I personally don't think there is any reason to stick with only the accepted instrumentation of any given genre... as long as it's done well and not gimmicky.

I like them but Alexi seems like a tool. The only albums I like are Follow the Reaper and Hate Crew Deathroll. Hatebreeder's ok. A lot of filler songs as previously stated. I actually like the keyboard. It adds to the music.
I prefer Kalmah to these guys if I want melodic death metal. Slightly less cheesy keyboard that's better implemented (Not quite as featured as in COB songs, not as as loud in the mix unless it's the featured part), better lyrics and vocals (Except that Swamp Hell song, I still don't know what he's saying), much more "epic" feeling (Songs like "For the Revolution" and "The Groan of Wind) and I just enjoy them a lot more."Dear Dr. Bill,
I work with a woman who is about 5 feet tall and weighs close to 450 pounds and has more facial hair than ZZ Top." - Jack The Riffer
"OK, we can both have Ben..joint custody. I'll have him on the weekends. We could go out in my Cobra and give people the finger..weather permitting of course.." -Bill Z. Bub

I actually like Alexi's vocals. Not bad at all in the broad scope of blackend death metal bands..well, that's where he cultivated it.
There's fare worse singers in all genres metal..far worse , especially younger "core" bands IMO!. I always liked his because he's somewhat dynamic and you can comprehend the lyrics easily. Many actually write great lyrics then screatch or bark their guts out incoherently. Then you have the flipside. The epitome of metal singers like Dio, Halford singing some of the dumbest lyrics ever put to paper...but it sounds great.
Anywhoo, It's all a matter of taste. But I own such a huge well to draw comparisons from. I think agressive music should have agressive vocals. It looses lots of punch when sang clean. Take Chris Amott's Armgeddon for example. It's basically sounds like Arch Enemy with clean vocals and it's just missing that edge..Y'know.."Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
