Akira is the man..H'es my fave from this bunch by far. I have this cd..plus all the Japanese import studio releases. But the sold out like many bands did during the 90's and put out some reall SHIT. I wsted money the 50 dollar split cd Dragon/Ghetto Machine and Engine..man that sucked! My faves will always be Disillusion and Thunder in the East. Their double live was used to get so much play. Most of their stuff is re-issued now..their '81 debut Birthday Eve, Devil Soldier, Tha law of Devil's land,..prolly grab thos for about 15-20 bucks a pop now.
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.
Hey Loudness put a few more things since I kept up. Their new one called "The everlasting"..one last year "Metal Mad"..Breaking the taboo..I have "Racing"..not that crazy about the re-rocorded stuff.
Oh, their classic live is "8186"..and Loudness in Tokyo"..But Unlike Eddie Akira's tecnique was just really OTT. One of my favorite guitar solo is in "You shook me"..with Mike Vescera. That one smokes!!

So did Gene Simmons who produced this debut..he's a whore. A very $mart whore.
Who's the bigger Whore Gene Simmons or Sharon Osbourne? Well, Sharon of course since she doesn't actually have any talent other than some suggadick. Oh, I don't even want to even picture that...oops..too late!
Randy banged her...oh man..and she was fuglier back then!

I only have one Loudness cd, Soldier of Fortune, and it rips! Akira's guitar work on that cd kicks total ass. The songs, guitar playing, and vocals are all top notch.
Those guys were good, for sure, and not pure rip offs, which is cool. It's pretty hard not to "copy" Malmsteen, because he pretty much patented the "neo classical" sound, any diminished and phrygian run he associated his name with, so even if someone wasn't influenced by him, they're still very Yngwie sounding. I find that most of the neo-classical players, such as George Bellas, try to out Yngwie, Yngwie. By being more "neo classical", so to say, and that just makes it boring for me.. Yngwie added his classical influences in with some pretty cool riffs and that's what made him unique.
There is no denying what Malmsteen did for the neoclassical guitar movement. I love his playing but I still consider Blackmore the father of this movement
Anyway, the cool thing about this stuff is even for those who get tired of it eventually you come back. Its proven itself over time. Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, etc... all did it way before any of these guys. They just didn't have Jacksons around at the time

They both ripped off Uli's style an insane amount, so Uli is the real king.

No, you should both go buy Disillusion. The band changed direction after it came out and while some following albums were heavier they were all trying to be more 'successful' and had less of the Japanese quirkiness that Disillusion had.
