I'll always remember when I told him he was as good as anyone. He cultivated a style that was so unique and different from all the the "shredders" I know. He thought I was crazy..but I could tell he was flattered. I told him he was good as Malmsteen..he was like .."bill, you're fuggin' crazy." I said say..Yngwie is awesome, but he can't do what you do. He looked pretty discourage because there was nobody at the show that night. In those days they had the time to sit at the bar to joke and BS. Van Williams was dry humpin' my friend's ex girl at the bar. Now they eveyone wants to meet 'em, and they deserve that..but they don't have time to hang out like they used to. Jeff used to call my friend that introduced us, and they would talk often. Once he gave him his d and Jeff called him up playing alot of it on the phone..he actually figured it out.
My biggest honor was hearing my riff in "Flirting with disaster". It was the same riff I so mad at a local fag I trusted that stole the fugger. Steve and alot of guys remebered when I made a stink about it on myspace. Image if Eddie Van Halen liked a riff/idea of yours and used it..that's exactly how this feels to me. So, it's not all about being technical..creativity is just as important. Jeff is the master at both!
BTW that friend I nmetioned about just called me and told me that Joe Stump is playing here tonight. I wished I knew because I took my meds and I'm down for the count..fuck, I'd love to go!
