  • Souls of We

Last night, I attended the 1st show ever from Souls of We. The show was in Tempe AZ at club Red...

I have to say, this was the most inspired playing from lynch Ive see in a long time. They played the Souls of We record in its entirity. His tone was stellar and the band was great....Super V guitars, Soldano and a old marshall, and 2 412's facing the back wall....

Was it the first show? I thought they had a California show last weekend. I might be wrong.

Did he play that V guitar the whole show?

Yeah, I think the first show was on the 22nd or something like that. Glad you liked it. I think that album is some of the best stuff he has done in a long time. Not typically hard rock but heavy none the less.

The first show was last night.
The knitting factory that was supposed to be last weekend was moved to june 14th. I think they're in Corona tonight. (angel's roadhouse?), then Hollywood on June 14th....

He played the JFrog looking ESP for Mr Scary, then only the V's for th entire Souls of We set. (a black distressed looking one with the neck PU removed ((pictured above)), and a red one that appeared stock)

Cool to hear! Without being a fan of Mr Scary, he is some kind of inspiration to as he's well over 50 and still rockin' and shreddin'!!!

Is that a reverse strat head I see on that V?

Doesn't look like a reverse strat head to me.

Was Mr. Scary the only non Souls of We song that they did?

Todd, do you have the Souls of We cd? Anyone have it? I've been hesitant to buy it. George was always my biggest influence and favorite guitarist growing up, but I've been disappointed by the last couple of things he's released. I bought that Furious George cover cd when it came out, and what a flaming turd that was. I don't want to waste my money on another uninspired lifeless cd. So I'm wondering how his guitar playing is on this cd.

I do. I ordered it off the website when it came out......
I think it a inspiring record from a songwriting perspective. I dug the first brides of destruction record too so its a double whammy for me. If your looking for a shred fest, look elsewhere, but if your looking for george's (and london's) songwriting abilities, I can't recomend this enough....
There are some preview tracks on the souls of we myspace that are a pretty good representation of the cd...
                    As always tho, ymmv...

George is back full circle to the Soldano again About time....I remember reading once where he said that the combination of his Soldano and old Marshall were the ultimate, and he couldn't believe he changed away from it. I have a live dvd where he is playing through some peavey/mesa rigs, and I was not impressed with his tone.
