I don't know if it's a generation thing but gay used to mean putting another dude's dick in your mouth or something like that.
STD's are avoidable, otherwise many pornstars wouldn't be working for so many years in the adult industry.
If we talk about an image which has to do with homosexuals then you have to look at the stereotypical metal look. Leather jacket and pants, spikes and chains etc. The image which was popularized by Judas Priest. The idea came from Rob Halford who saw that image in gay clubs. That image differed from more laid back biker style which gave homosexuals the basic idea.

Spandex was originally a sportswear fabric but also worn by fictional superheroes. Many 80's bands wore spandex but they didn't got the idea from men who were sucking dicks.
I haven't seen Marty wear exact moon shoes which are meant for the children but I have seen him with platform shoes which were popular during the Disco era but also worn by 70's glam rock musicians who are a big influence to Marty.

Judging people by looks is an interesting phenomen. It's like being in a fashion show where tough men are trying to get cast to the sequel of The Devil Wears Prada.
80's was the high point of course. When many hair metal bands wore flashy clothing. But they only wore that stuff. When you look at the interviews you'll never see "hey check out what I'm wearing right now".... maybe except for Poison.
It was those so called "true metalheads" who endlessly talked about how others look yet claiming that the looks aren't important and yet coping the "true metalhead" look which all the other "true metalheads" were wearing.
And where are they know? Not doing music that's for sure. I bet they work for Vogue magazine.

It always gives me a chuckle to see people get bent out of shape over how somebody else dresses. It's especially funny when the supposed "nonconformists" end up having strict uniforms. Randy Rhoads used to get harassed & beat up for having a glam look in high school, and I bet plenty of guys here would've been first in line fucking with him.

Let's talk about Marty's music eh? The new album sucks, but rocks to an astonishing degree too, it's the oddest shit/brilliant album I've ever listened to. I love it. While hating it.
