Speaking of NM, I put Year of the Voyager in my car yesterday for my Windows Down, Volume Up music.

That is one well produced live album and all the musicians are on fire.

The thing for me with Nevermore is while they have some high tempo thrash style tunes, Born being a perfect example, they are not really a thrash metal band. They are just metal. There doesn't have to be a sub genre when the band can do it all.

It's different when you are looking at a more musically narrow focused band like Slayer, Exodus, Kill Em All era Metallica, or even new bands like Evile. You can define them because they have a more limited scope. (In no way am I trying to suggest this is a bad thing.)

Nevermore is just Metal because they do it all and excel. I wish I could say I got on the bandwagon earlier, but it doesn't make the ride any less sweet.

I now allow this thread to resume it's course.

Whiplash! I haven't heard about them in a long time. They were a local NJ band, and drummer Tony Scaglione played in Slayer when Dave Lombardo quit for a year between 1986 and 1987.

Well ya forgot M.O.D. can't think of anymore that haven't been mentioned. I would almost consider Death a thrash band in there later days....I loved Human.
