Ozzy ditching Zakk!

Who is Bob? It's been so long that I don't give as big of a shit, but the fact that it was advertised on the BLS forums by an Admin and Zakk cleansing his hands of the situation really pissed me off. I didn't even get my MP4 player - just the stupid bike model.

Man the 357 saga I felt bad for the guys who didnt get their free guitars, But Zakk's employee chad was behind it. didnt Chad even stay on as an admin and whatnot or did they finally can his ass?

I dont think the epi guitars they did manage to get, were from their own funds, I would imagine zakk would be quite bale to get free epi's or very very cheap epi zw sigs...

I know plenty of guys on here were still hoping to get one even after a few people were lucky to recieve one, I remmeber one guy telling me I would eat crow when everyone got their guitar, felt kind abad for him...

As for Zakk being replaced, even if they did get someone good ozzy burnt out long ago..

And the whole BLS brotherhood colours stuff is a bit pathetic, I dont think the real bikers in the UK would tolerate it....

I'd have no problem with him paying homage to biker gangs/culture but they are trying to be a biker gang and get kids to wear that crap which could get them in trouble...

I especially liked how zakk had nothing to do with 357 after having custom bikes and promoting it, and when the stuff started to be a confirmed scam it's like "dont blame me I didnt do it"...

Did he have any interviews or make any comments about his custom bikes/the promotions?

I cant see him being as unaware as he claimed as they were suing his name and image, and his guitar colour schemees for the little model bikes too, plus Chad was working for him I cant see how Zakk could be completely free from blame...

That was my issue with it - he HAD to know something was going on. If I had at least gotten what I paid for (the mp4 player) I wouldn't really have room to bitch too much...But I got stiffed on THAT, too. $200 for a model bike is bullshit.

No you don't have to give her props actually. Someone who would pull a stunt like shitting on another persons things shows they feel they are superior. A good business person would simply tell him to take a hike.

Exactly. In the various "documentaries" where they make her out to be a saint, she claims to be so different from her dad, but she's exactly like him. The quality of the music takes a back seat to the business end, band members are peons to be screwed out of royalties & tossed aside if they become inconvenient, etc. You can be very aggressive & successful without having to be spiteful & downright evil about it. People do it all the time.

Props in the sense that she's just as nutty as he is; it's something you'd expect from your fraternity brother during RUSH week while they were drunk and stoned out of their minds, ar at 3am at the taco stand - probably not so much from a record exec or any other kind of general business person, which is why i found it to be rather hilarious at the time. But whatever. I know she's got business talent that's been squandered on episodes like the aforementioned, but that's precisely what makes rock 'n rollers who they are - players and managers alike. I agree with that one, even though I admit to buying all of them, I feel that nothing compares to No Rest.
Thats around the time when Ozzy started to sell out and it showed in his music.
He should just get back with Sabbath and finish his days with them.

I personally think Zakk Wydle fuggin' rocks..I can't take anything away from the man as a guitarist.

It would be nice if he actually have more writing input w/ Ozzy like Randy and Jake did. When Oz's managment (Sharon) insisted bringing in writers that's when Ozzy became completely nuetered. Much like many established bands that have a formula/style set in stone..they start to become stagnant. It would cool to see Zakk join Dio or cool band, because the guy can certainly play, and has a good tone. I would like to see his abilities and potential in a different context. EX; he trades off some extremely tasty firey shit with Yngwie on the last Derek Sherinian release. In fact I think Tim Owens would fit Zakk's style better than the Swedish mighty Duck IMO!

I respect Zakk for the player he is. He has a style all his own that is recognized in seconds. What guitarist doesn't strive for that kind of identity?!

I regularly talk to a guy who is close to the BLS camp, and he figured the same thing: if his webmaster is pimping this deal, it's legit. That's the only reason I went for it, and unfortunately it bit me in the ass. Far too late to do anything about it now.

As for Zakk being out of Ozzy's band...excellent, it needed to happen. They haven't released anything worthwhile since No More Tears (and even that one only had a few good tunes). Ozzy is so far beyond having anything to offer that I don't think any guitarist could save his sorry vocals.

Zakk on the other hand is still a monster player. Yeah, those pinch harmonics are overused to the point of annoyance, but love him or hate him he's got some amazing chops. On top of that, he's one of the coolest people that you could ever hope to meet. My former music store had him in for a day to do a "clinic" (he just jammed classic rock tunes for about 2 hours...no Q&A) back in '92 and we hung out for the rest of the night, hitting various bars in the area. He even took over the stage from a guy doing a solo keyboard act and started singing and playing a bunch of Allman Bros and Skynyrd tunes...the guy can play the keys! I'm surprised I remember any of it after numerous beers and shots of Jagermeister

I think if he were to take his time and try to develop his songs (most BLS stuff sounds like rushed ideas to me) or join up with another act like Dio as Bill suggested, he could once again become relevant. Ozzy on the other hand is done...put a fork in him.
