I think it is time for Ozzy to hang it up. I know I will probably get flamed all to hell for this, but nothing can be as bad as the beating Blazer took so I'm ready....

    I'm just sayin...

Yeah, but we've seen this before haven't we, resulting in Steve Vai's Ozzy LP being binned and Zakk coming back and re-recording the whole thing? Somebody's just been bugging Sharon that they should get someone hip, groovy and down with the kids so this John 5 character is obviously her man.

Dunno why Ozzy is moaning - "One thing about a guy who can't do all the finger-tapping stuff is that he plays better on the riffs 'cos it's not all [hums riff for 'Iron Man' followed by over-the-top widdling]." It wasn't that long ago he was whinging that no-one could play solos any more, that was why he had stuck with Zakk despite his committments to BLS.

Come on Ozzy, have a drink, kick the Mrs in the twat, end your career (and life) on a mental binge.
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

      I nearly broke her back

I saw Ozzy on his Farewell tour in 98 and he cut the set short by about 45 minutes.

He had someone else playing Zakk's parts but I cant remember who it was because they still had good coke then.

was it joe holmes, that's who I saw him with in 95?
No thanks to JOHN 5. I didn't like the last zombie albume because of him. metal country music.

I really would lose a lot of respect for Ozzy if he hadn't even TOLD Zakk this was the plan before shooting off his mouth. That's really disrespectful and despite if you like Zakky or not, he's been loyal to the old man all these years and just based on loyalty should have gotten a heads up.

I really was never a Jake fan. I have Bark and the Moon and Ulitimate Sin, but the tone and sound of those albums never sounded very good to me. I'm not knocking Jakes playing at all, he's playing was great, just the production of those albums just never sounded good so i never got too into them.

john 5... uh... I don't want to hear an entire j5 album... it would be cool to hear some off the wall ozzy song with john 5, but not as his replacement guitars for zakk.. the guy is crazy talented, but just doesn't seem to pull the guns out on the albums.. I hated the last rob zombie album and I really had high hopes for it because of j5... ah well

With Chris now in Megadeth I can't think of anyone really who's outside of the mainstream enough... so get someoen who's just completely unknown. Hell get one of the Japanese guys I see on youtube, some of those guys take it very seriously and I think would do really well
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

That was my thought, that he's going to get one of those Japanese virtuosos you see on youtube. Truthfully though, great, great, great technique, and they can play any Malmsteen song you put in front of them, but when it comes to witting it's a giant flop.

Let me start by saying I am a hige Zakk Fan! I think thats a MAJOR dick move, but we have no real say in it. I do think however Zakk and J5 should team up. Zakks into the whole southern fried metal, and John 5 does some country-metal, and I think together they could ocme up with some sick stuff. I think the fact that Zakk was not told, should make John 5 feel bad, and he should decline, like a sort of "I won't team up with you because what you did to Zakk was wrong, and you could ultimately do it too me." Type of thing. Because I KNOW Zakk would do the same thing if the tables were flipped.
I hooked up my accelerator pedal in my car to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

I think so, did not even notice it was not Zakk till the 3rd song because he nailed all the guitar parts pretty good.

JOHN HOLMES played played for Ozzy!? Oh wait Joe Holmes, John 5...Sorry got confused.

I really hope you're wrong Newc, would hate to see Jake go out that way. I have mad respect for that guy. First big concert/player I saw when I was 16 and said, "that's what I want to do for a living"

That would be sick! But I doubt he'll do it.

I agree, but I'd rather he stays with Firewind. Ozzy just isn't the mega prestige gig that he was in the 80's to early 90's, when dudes would kill to get in his band.
He should get another unknown guy, he has a 'nose' for unearthing great new talent!

If I recall correctly this isn't the first time somebody has been fired from ozzy's band without a phone call or in person. Honestly I'm not sure, but it seems to ring a bell, but cant remember who or how many times it has happened.
