Regardless of what Ozzy has become, that crazy fucker is responsible for delivering some of the greatest rock ever. Need a reminder, go back and listen to your Sabbath albums. That shit is fucking brilliant. Ozzy was awesome back then. Even his stuff with Randy pales by comparison.

Zakk is certainly a very good guitar player but his body of work is not even comparable to what Ozzy did without him. Seriously, there isn't a single Zakk era tune that is 1/10th of what Ozzy did before him. Randy only got to release 2 discs (the QR stuff doesn't count). Zakk's released a dozen or so (?) and has yet to produce a single song/riff/melody/solo/anything that touches anything Randy did.

And the whole fake biker thing is embarrassing to see. Even Michael's glove and glittery Sgt. Pepper's outfits were more manly and sincere than those dorky BLS "colors".
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

Wait. Zakk doesn't even ride a motorbike? Seriously?
I assumed he was actually somewhat into riding bikes, just took the image to stupid OTT levels, but you guys are saying he doesn't even ride bikes?

A dirty looking biker with a hardman image - Zakk should take lessons from Glen Benton!

On another note, I saw some kid wearing BLS gear yesterday. Him and his friend live in a VERY affluent part of Glasgow (Bearsden), all upper middle class types, yet he was walking around with camouflage combat trousers and BLS logos on his stuff. He even said "Alright DUDE" to me, which , in Scotland, is just ridiculous. No one in Scotland says "dude", especially not in Glasgow. The whole picture was just laughable.

So his fans are as lame as him.

"So get a bike, put on a backpatch and ride around town past your friendly neighbourhood Hells Angels Chapter. Tell them it's only a harmless bit of dressing up, just an image, then come back and tell us what they say. I suspect you will need someone to type for you."

Ya know...Its shit like this that keeps this "Original" forum member away...What does that have to do with anything I said??? I never suggested anyone impersonate an H.A. nore did I suggest Zakk do so...

Dude...you have no clue...My fingers are gunna stay just fine!

Zakk didn't just pretend to be a biker, as has been pointed out, many people associate themselves with bikes and bikers, but he tried to fashion a Brotherhood, based around.....um, buying his records. Maybe he should have a load of Yakuza tattoos done and pretend to be one of those instead. No, wait, he might have to cut his little finger off.
An incident came to my mind reading that.

Last year I was at place that sells army effects/clothes and paintball equipment. In walked a dude with long hair and a BLS "mafia" sweater with skull and guns on the backside.
I was at the other end of the store when suddenly I heard a lot of noise, I rushed to see what was going on and I saw the owner (somewhere in his 30's) pushing the BLS-kid (probably not even 20) down the stairs and out the door saying stuff like "you think you're tough, eh? I'll kick your ass anytime, fuck off, fucking wannabe heavy metal punk-ass kid" etc.

I didn't find out what it was all about, but the owner has always been very nice to me so I thought it was very strange. I don't think it was a "heavy metal" thing either even tho he used that against the kid.. Cause I used to have fairly long hair before I cut it all off, now most people just assume I'm a skinhead/nazi which can be annoying but at least they leave me alone

Anyway, I was thinking maybe it had something to do with the BLS-thing? Or maybe the kid just said something stupid. Either way, I'll never know.

Along the lines of the biker thing- Zakk seems to fly pretty close to the sun on this one. Even on the Q & A on his site, he's got some "Support your Local 81" type comments.

The fact is that in some corners a 3 patch set on your back means "MC", period- Not riding club, not association, not following a band- MC. Taken a bit further, it probably means OMC.

I'm hardly a MC expert. But I bet we have a few on this board. I'd wonder what their take is on kids in 3 patch sets. Apparently in Britain there have been some incidents regarding BLS "colors" crossing paths with full patch MC members, and it has been uncomfortable.

In fact, if I recall correctly, Zakk also has a bit on his site about taking colors off if asked to do so by an MC member.

              Actually, here's the link:

Exactly, I have had first hand experience of "uncomfortable" incidents when it was decided that our little merry band of biker boozers had crossed the line with our patch. And by patch, I mean beermat sized circular patch, designed to go on the arm of a jacket, not Patch as in BackPatch.

We were not a bike gang, a bike club or MC, just a loose group of blokes who congregated in a certain pub, played darts and got pissed there, and sometimes went on Sunday runs together on our bikes.
The crime? Daring to put the county in which sits our "local" pub on the badge/patch. We were told in no uncertain terms that was verboten, and if anyone was spotted wearing them from that day on, we'd ALL get stomped.

They weren't kidding either, they then gleefully set off on a gang war with any organised group of motorcyclists who crossed their path without the relevant permission/tribute whatever.

Now they got stomped out of existence themselves, but only after a few murders, scalpings and firebombings. I shudder to think what would have happened to anyone stupid enough to be seen in BLS "colours". I know they wouldn't have been asked to remove them, the act of wearing them would have been seen as a direct challenge. We were given the benefit of the doubt, were warned before the shooters and axes came out, because they accepted we just made the mistake of putting location on the badge.

These chaps are extremely touchy about this sort of thing, I seem to recall that only the Hells Angels are "allowed" to have England on their colours. Didn't Motorhead get some shit for their Motorhead England design?

Zakk's image would potentially get him into some serious trouble in the UK, and I would imagine Scandinavia amongst other places. Encouraging kiddiwinks who have no fucking clue about the extent to which these Patch boys take their lifestyle to copy them by "setting up" a set of colours is reckless in the extreme.
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

And I didn't suggest you impersonate a H.A either. I just suggested you wear something that looked exactly like a Backpatch and see how long it took before someone pulled you up about it.
Maybe it's not the same in the US, but that reinforces my point - what's cool here might get you into serious trouble elsewhere. I look forward to Zakk's "Burkha Slutz" colours for his female fans, especially when he does a highly unlikely tour of Saudi Arabia!

Incidentally, when you say original forum member is that "Original" forum member, or "original forum member", if you know what I mean?

Zakk wants people to wear his biker patches, until some genuine bikers notice, then his fans, who, presumably, are as big and tough as Zakk himself, have to renounce their Zakk patches like a little girl and run off into the distance from the REAL big tough guys?

What a fucking joke! As an image that's pretty fucking gay. "We're hard, we're BLS, but if some real big hard types come along run away and give them your stuff you fucking homo".

                    • Anyone who styles himself as "Zakk Wylde" and then goes on to pretend he's a tough guy is probably not playing with a full deck.

The small amount of BLS material I've heard certainly wouldn't make me want to go around pretending to be a biker.

                            • There is noone "pretending" to be a Biker, The patches were originally for the Band and Crew Only. It was about the Brotherhood of the Band and Crew who make it all happen. Then, a few people on Ebay started selling "Clone" patchs (Rippie74 is one that comes to mind) and got rich....SO, after they started showing up everywhere, They were offered on the Official Bravado site. and FTR most HA have no problem w/ BLS here in the States, In Fact, they did alot of Security for the shows and Zakk was gave a HA Ring. Personally, I have spoken w/ many a HA and they are cool w/ it and dig the music. The Problem w/ the patches came out of Disrespect to the MC's out there.. Say what you will about Zakk, it doesn't matter one way or another. Personally, I have had some damn good times w/ him and Crew, Including sharing the stage a few times w/ the man himself. He is a hell of a guy and if you ever meet him, you would certainly agree. DId I mention the hardest working man in the business?? Back on the patches, I think it was a good idea for the marketing aspect. Remember Kiss Army? It sure made them rich.. Call it what you want, Agree or disagree, It was a Great Idea that he came up with.
