    • If any of Ozzy's old guitarists should play Randy's music it should be Joe Holmes since he is a former student of Randy's. I saw him play with Ozzy the last time he was in Knoxville, TN and he did the best playing Randy's stuff hands down compared to the other guitarists Ozzy has had since Randy's death.

Yeah, I saw him in 1995 in Hollywood with Ozzy and he nailed the Rhoads stuff. Nailed the Jake stuff too IIRC. I have never been a Zakk fan so I could care less if he nailed the Zakk stuff to that point but he probably did. He can really play, not the greatest showman but no worse than Zakk IMO in that department.

I've got the Budokan show, but at least there he's keeping up with the guide track. I can't really hear any mistakes. On Blizzcon performance, he is WAY off in spots. He really needs to hang it up.

There is only one guy in his 60's that can still impress vocally, and his name is Dio, not Osbourne....

            Damn Straight.

            Ronnie still has the voice.

Dickinson is still bellowing it out there at the age of 51. And Halford is still going at 58.

Just Ozzy wasn't that strong a vocalist in his prime though. I like his material, but he was never a great singer.

I saw Joe with Ozzy at Ozzfest 1997 & 1998 and, from what I remember, I enjoyed his playing. He always drenched his hair in water before going on stage. What happened to Joe anyway? I guess I could Wiki it, but fact is I've not heard of him at all since then. Being with Ozzy didn't really seem to help much with getting him long-term exposure.

              • Black Label Society drops off tour due to Zakk Wyldes health

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY has performed their last show on The Pedal To The Metal Tour due to the health of frontman ZAKK WYLDE. Wylde has been diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs, and has been admitted into the hospital in Eugene, OR this afternoon. Today's BLS appearance in Eugene has been canceled, along with the remaining BLS appearances on the tour.

The Pedal To The Metal Tour will continue without Black Label Society, and the rest of the bands will all be participating throughout the remaining dates on the tour. Please visit www.pedaltothemetaltour.com for tour dates.

BLS apologizes to ticket holders on the remaining Pedal To The Metal dates for the inconvenience, as well as to all BLSNATION Meet & Greet purchasers who gathered for the event this afternoon and in the remaining cities. BLSNATION refunds will be processed promptly.

Further updates on Zakk’s medical condition will become available as they are known.

                      • Something is throwing thrombus in his system. He may have to be on warfarin/coumadin for life....that will surely cut his drinking. Welcome to a life changing illness, I hope he is up for it. My thoughts are with him, it's gonna be a rough ride.

                          • Sometimes thrombosis can be caused by cirhossis of the liver, and clots that formed elsewhere in the body can break free and travel to the lungs.

                            • Given what the article says, there's no mention of cirhossis. Could it be a contributing factor? Given his "reputation", yes. But so could a great number of other causes.

Lots of misinformation about that. My father has cirhossis and he was a moderate drinker. It can come from a lot of different contributing factors - but yes, alcohol is one of them.
