They don't always use C#. And I don't like Demon Burger much either...or Tenacious D. I don't take the second one seriously at all actually.

Well, one's a comedy act, and the other is comical.

This is all blasphemy.. lol. I can honestly say that I've been a huge fan of slayer forever and I can't say that there is a song I hate from them. There's been changes in style and tone but nothing that changed the band that much in my opinion. I picture the shows I've been to and how anytime I listen to them all I want to do is grab my guitar... or kill... lol. No other band does that for me. Pure adrenalin!!

Judas Preist lost ALL credibilty with me when they fired Al Atkins for some hack by the name of Rob Halford.

Seriously, let me ask ..I must. My introduction to Maiden is when Killer was just released. Then I bought their first one that week. Don't get me wrong I love Bruce (he is technically a better singer), but my favorite Iron Maiden will ALWAYS be their two first records.

I cut my metal teeth, and broke a few hearts & cherries with those first two Maiden records. They're very sentimental and I sometimes weep when I listen to them like a true metalhead.

Those are my faves as well, Billy. We should listen to them by candle light some time.

I can get some of the bashing later slayer stuff, b'ut I have to say God Hates us All is a great album AND it's not all "ooh la la Satan rules! stuff - it bashes organized religion and blind faith, but doesn't dwell on forked tail devil imagery and drinking blood.
Whenever I hear "Exile", I think of Sam Kinison

I can't take the "solos" on most Slayer tracks though. This is not an exception.

I hear you there Bill, I feel the same way. Those 2 albums just had such a raw edge. Much more straight ahead punch you in the face kind of music, but the mellow stuff like Remember Tomorrow and Prodigal Son was very well done too. Dianno brought kind of a punky edge to the band that Bruce can't/doesn't. I'm one of those people that prefers Clive's drumming style to Nikko's as well. The people that replaced those in the early line up are obviously great and they've made some great music but those first two albums were just so groundbreaking and awesome.

to me, slayer has pretty much always been a shit band - i have never hidden that on this board. i LOVE "show mo mercy" and "hell awaits". "haunting the chapel" is a favorite as well.

everytime slayer comes out with something new i give it a listen. i am usually uninspired to buy the album. i think i love the albums i listed because they remind me of a period in my life where be a metalhead WAS everything, and the teenage/HS years that went along with it were awesome.

so, i listened to that song and found it to be complete garbage. they don't need to change, they just need to go away.....nah, not even that...they can stay around. little kids like them and old dudes that need to shock their peers still like them....

ehhh, fuck 'em they are just as contrived as metallica. the biggest difference is that to the guys that ride their dick, slayer never "sold out".

hahahahahahahaha. a shit storm is a brewing.....
                        GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

                        and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

I love you bastids..in the most gayest of ways.

Jimmy it's a date maiden hell..I could used a little romance. My wife's Aunt Flo is visting!! Hellbat, you can come along too man..we can make it a triple dutch rudder..

I don't listen to metal to "shock" anyone. I always did a pretty good job doing that myself. But the metal thing is just part of the package. My father was my biggest influence. He was the president of The Sons Of Satan, and The Coffin Cheaters MC club from 1968-73 . Yes, everyone respected him..or else. He also was well, lets just say..he punched everything but a clock for a living. He is still my only hero, and we talk everyday. Now he says I'm worse than he was with my temper. He says it would have been intersting if the two of us ever locked horns in our prime.. if we wern't father and son.

My father turned me onto Black Sabbath...then took me to see the Exorcist 'in '73 when I was 9 years old. It intrigued and scared the shit ouf of me because at that time ALL the Nuns and presists at my school (St Rocco) said that was 100% REAL.. Nooooo, this was no silly "boogie man"..but REAL, and could happen to anone of us. Needless to say I went to bed with a bible, and a squirt gun full of Holy Water..and that's a big no shit. The movie didn't traumatize me, but those damn nuns and preists did. Again, one of many elements on how this developed my persona..along with many years of being a ghetto cop.

BTW..Black metal..was 100% influenced by THAT movie! Nobody ever acknowledged that. Black metal and all its imagery came directly from that movie. From Reagan's demonic voice, blashemous images, dialogue..to the white and black "deathmask" that is flashed twice during the movie and of course..Satan. That movie was the most shocking movie at ALL time, and drove people back to church in droves. I remember..I was there. Like Tony LeVay once said in his Nine Satanic Statements ..Statement #9 "Satan has been the best friend the church has ever had, as He has kept it in buisness all these years."

But I always said fear, anxiety, terror, superstition, chaos, lack of certainty, and the unknown are the most motivating forces of human nature. People simply can't get enough of it. Besides endless war, the holocaust, genocide, the crusades. These "safe" fantasies, views and opinions are a huge part of Metal, and horror films. The very purpose is to be extreme ..that shock and awe, and Satan is the very essence, the epitome of that! Satan is none more evil..and who doesn't want that??!!
