to get into original topic, Fernando is an incredible player... I think he is just messing around in those particular videos... more of an impro than constructed melodical themes.

He was younger when he did the Alcatrazz stuff, and IMO that's some of his best shit. I can ALWAYS go back and listen to Far Beyond The Sun and get totally pumped up and be like "Fuck yes, Yng is the man!".

          Oh.. and..

Awesome video YJM of that era is simply

I think the current YJM is better off focusing on the Concerto type stuff with the orchestra... his other stuff has been very stale for a long time.

Btw, the chord progression he plays starting 3:34... can anybody tell me the chords used, or at least what key / scale it's based on? I'll try to pick it out by ear too, but some help would be appreciated.

And the melody he goes into starting 3:40... seems very familiar from either a Classical piece, or somewhere else... anybody know of the original song?

            Thanks,

            - Leo.

              I think he plays B5, A#Maj without 5 (voiced A#, octave higher A# and D), F# open voicing, A#Maj (voiced D, F, A#), D#Maj7Sus2 (D#, A#, D, F), F (voiced C, F, A), A# (voiced F, A#, D), slide, A# without 5 (voiced A#, octave higher A# and D)

But he's tuned half step down, I never use that fuggin' tuning so I guess in Eb it would go, C5, B without 5, G, B, EMaj7Sus2, F#, B without 5, slide, B and all the other crap described above.

As far as the following shit goes, yeah that's from a classical piece but I can't remember what it is as I've haven't listened to pre-19th century classical music for years.

The most amazing thing about that Yngwie solo is the bass synth notes are being played by him at the same time on his moog pedalboard...

                  Mr. Theory Graduate?

Isn't he tuned to E during Alcatrazz, though?

I really want to say the tapping thing is a from Vivaldi's four seasons, but I'm probably wrong.

                      No fuggin' way!!!!

Blazer became so good at guitar that it completely bored him. So he found joy drawing XXX rated Pokemon cartoons..like most guys in their mid 30's do.:ROTF:

Wooter mastered every mode imaginable, so he invented his own..then taught players like Vai, Uli, and that 9 year old asian kid.

You forgot about his technical post grunge rasta music. It was there where he invented the note h.

YES..he actually tuned to H, and sang often in H#. His remakes of 80's pop songs brought tears to my ears. You can listen to any of his renditions and be instantly overwhelmed with emotions you never thought you had. He invented those emotions!!!

I don't remember about other Alcatrazz tunes, but in that solo he is E flat.
