  • My Project is complete

I posted this here because at least half of my new project guitar is a new USA Production Slime Green SD body. I started with the body I recently aquired really cheap on eBay. Add to it the neck and Floyd trem from my Charvel Model 375 that I never really connected with. I got that one really cheap too, so it didn't bother me to take the neck off it. It fit fine with the only problem being I needed longer neck screws, but I had them lying around. I changd the block on the Floyd to a big brass 42mm one which added great sustain (I think so anyway.) The only other issue I had was I had to get new trem posts since the old ones were too large for the bushings in the new body. I put in a set of Dimarzio Super Distortions also. At least I can say that this guitar is 100% Charvel, only it spans 2 decades and 2 countries! But it looks cool I think. I haven't seen any other production bodies with "Model" necks here so I figured I show off mine. Thanks.

I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

          @ carbuff

I knew someone else already put a model neck on a greenie.

@ jrnic - what's up with the floyd tilted back and leaning on the body?

It's not leaning on the body. It is tilted back a little though. I adjusted it that way. Believe it or not but I really do not like Floyds. I would rather have a nice Vintage Strat style trem (If I even had to have one.) I'm not much into divebombing and stuff. Maybe a little warble once in a while but nothing crazy. So I have the springs adjusted so as to make the bridge very tight. I hate floating trems, drives me crazy keeping it in tune. It works for me, plays great and it's the way I like it. I have my other Floyds set up similarly.

The other body is going into another project? Right.

I haven't decided yet. I might just keep it until the next great neck comes along to replace what I used now. We'll see......

Got ya gassin for sharkies now, huh. Dont forget that a 22 fret jackson neck should fit on there too without any problems with a couple of exceptions (certain indian made models) It might be easier to find a 22 fret jackson neck (rr3) with sharks than the charvel. A 475 neck would be sweet with the binding and all. Hard to come by though.
