Creaky trem springs

    Thanks for the info all.

    I removed each spring in turn and established that no one spring was causing the problem. I also tried the tissue paper method and this didn't work. From a low angle you can see that the springs are all kinking at quite a significant angle so I'm not surpised that the paper didn't work.

    I like a bit of pull back with the block size that came from the factory so I suppose I'll either have to file three grooves in the wood or put up with the creaking.

      Bust out the file. It's not yours until you take paint off.

        I've heard that you can rub your springs on a bar of soap, and that will stop it, I've not had noisy springs, so I've not tried it.
        It's not your job to be as confused as Nigel....

          Thats a good idea. Or even candle wax. It will lower the friction between surfaces.
