Well so much for trying to play nice with you guys huh? To be honest, there are a few members on here and on the Charvel forum that I have great respect for. But of course, like any forum, there are a whole bunch of idiot fanboys on here too. Some members were gentleman and could empathize with the situation. Some had experience with wood and guitar construction and offered advice. Several were even kind enough to offer to help me repair the guitar. And then there were the morons that are apparently still trying to figure out why I would intentionally smash my new $1000.00 guitar. Haven't cracked that case yet huh?

I am selling the guitar on ebay with no reserve. A friend of mine who is a cabinet maker repaired it for free. I would rather lose a bunch of money on it than give anyone the satisfaction of me paying dealer cost to replace a neck I didn't break. It's called principle. Have you heard of it? If you f'n losers would stop playing Call of Duty in your parent's basement for a little while, you might figure out what that means. Plus I have saved so much money in the last month buying used FMIC products, that the loss is more than made up for.

I don't know how the crack happened. I don't really give a f*ck if any of you believe me or not. Your opinion means absolutely nothing to me. This original thread was not started asking for any advice. It was simply an FYI about a situation I was having.

In the future, instead of typing your ignorant replies and keeping this old thread going, you would be better off spending more time jerking off to your sister's Victoria's Secret catalog.

If your one of these d*ckhead punks, please consider this directed at you. If your not, please disregard. You know who you are.

And for the record.... I have a bunch of guitars that sit unplayed in their cases for long periods of time. It's called a collection, you f'n jerk.

Well... right back atcha, fella. Based on your fit of rage displayed here, I think you got all mad at the guitar and stepped on the back of the neck on purpose - or maybe you were trying to do the Camel Clutch to it and yanked a little too hard - snap!

Yeah yeah yeah - your collection was locked up and no one had access to it and the neck just snapped on its own. I don't really give a f*ck about you collection. Here's an FYI - you're not saving money by buying used... you're just buying used. Saving money would imply not spending money in the first place.

You come here and post an FYI, then slag everyone who responds, and then slag the entire board and say you didn't want to hear what we had to say in the first place? Gimme a break.

It's simple, asshole; you broke it yourself when you INEPTLY put the wrenchholder on it, and you can't admit it - to YOURSELF, that's the funny part here. Mike Learn put it nicely when he said that kind of thing just does NOT happen by itself. If you really were the only one with access, and it was fine when you bought it, then YOU DID IT, period. Or your gf got in there, knocked it off the others, and didn't tell you. Otherwise, you fucked it up, period.

Now if you're so stupid that you didn't notice a cracked neck when you bought the fucking thing, that too is your own fucking fault. You are spinning a fairy tale of what happened, and Charvel offered you a neck at cost despite the fact that everybody but you can tell it was your own damn fault.

People here were playing nice with you by not saying straight out what a stupid fucking lop you really are. Thanks for pricking up so we can say what we really think now! :ROTF:

First of all, I didn't slag everyone, just some f'n douchebags. Now if you feel offended, like I said, you know who you are.

Here's an example I think even you cellar-dwellars can follow. There was a white/black pro-mod at the store for $1099 that I wanted, but wouldn't buy out of principle. Now a few months later, the EXACT guitar turns up on my local CL in new condition, and I bought it for $750. You don't see any savings there? Do they make any educational games for your XBOX?

No warranty buying used though, not that it seemed to apply in your original case.

Yeah the Camel Clutch reference was great. I am a big guy and I was literally laughing out loud picturing myself doing it to that poor guitar. LOL.

That crack goes against the pull on the neck/strings

When I look at that pic either a few things may have happened

                    -It fell over face first

-it was placed against a wall in an angle, and something hit it

-Stringchanges were done by cutting the old strings still in tention with pliers

-Someone decided to adjust the trussrod using an electric screwdriver on it at Full Speed!

                      Arguements aside....

From what some people have said it seems to be a possibility that screwing in the Allen wrench holder can weaken the headstock.

Is this why FMIC don't fit them for us?

I haven't fitted mine. Couldn't bring myself to drill in to the headstock.

Sheesh. What is it with "can't drill a hole" lately... :ROTF:

No. Doesn't weaken the headstock to any degree you should be concerned with for more than two seconds, which is about how long it would take you to drill the hole. It's not a collector's item; tape the drill bit to the correct depth and go to town.

I can see several ways this could have happened but mounting the allen wrench holder isn't one of them (unless he set it face down on concrete and put his size 18 boot on the back of the neck and used 4 or 5 hundred pounds of body weight to hold it in place, which I doubt.)

Even if it was the allenkey holder,... it would crack on a different spot!

Hey now, theres absolutley no reason to bring COD into this!

Anyway, as I stated earlier, I dont know how it happenned. I KNOW it didnt happen on its own, HOWEVER I can also say with 99.98 percent confidence that installing the allen holder did NOT cause this. Even if he decided not to predrill the holes and just started driving the screw in there, it would not have caused the cracks that we saw. It just doesent work like that, these necks are quartersawn... the cracks would have gone WITH the grain, meaning the headstock would have split in half. AND even if he pushed way to hard while driving that screw in, he would have been pushing on the back of the headstock.

To put it simply, the ONLY way for that damage to have happenned was a blow to the front of the headstock, ESPECIALLY under string tension... were talking over 140lbs of string tension here. Its not just going to seperate. It physically cant. But the allen holder? No way in hell.

Alright Im done for now, gonna go play some COD now that you mention it. n00b t00b ftmfw!
Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...
