You do have a choice - if you want a modern, recessed Floyd, buy a Jackson. If you want a awesome, killer old-skool shred monster with a proper non-recessed Floyd, buy a Charvel.

Ahh, it's about being "proper" to you then. WTF would it hurt to give people the option of having a recessed Floyd on these? It makes no sense to pay custom shop prices for a recess, different sustain block and straight neck angle.
As far as Jackson, well if they made a 22-fret, maple fret board, full size strat body, with strat head AND a recessed Floyd at production prices, I would buy one (or more) in a heartbeat. Plenty others would too.
But they don't. So you're wrong, that isn't much of a choice.

That's all I'm asking for, is to have the option, not for them to change the guitar to only one type.

Yah, I've played some, they aren't bad, but it's still hard for me to get used to the strings being that high up. I sure do love the necks though, and would love to have some to replace my GMW as my main player!

Jesus, this really isn't hard. What I'm talking about is making a non-recessed AND recessed of each model. That's all they need to do, and they will instantly gain newer customer while keeping their older ones happy.
Also, you're complaining about having your choices limited, put yourself in the shoes of those of us who prefer a recessed floyd, right now we don't have a limited choice, we have NO choice.
Which is silly in today's guitar market.

And here's why I'm speaking up: somebody out there didn't speak up and say that a transparant kandy magenta finish was a bad idea and they went ahead and made it. I don't want the same thing to happen with a recessed Floyd.

The less options and variations they provide the faster and more cheaply they can make 'em. I think that's what it boils down to.
I also prefer recessed trems, but I don't think it would make sense for these guitars or the market they're targeted at.|My CSG gallery|

You have a point, even though the change isn't much, they would have to use a different sustain block, route the recess and use a straight angle on the neck pocket.
I do think the market they are targeted are mainly hard rock/metal players, and alot of them prefer the recess. Why not do it if it sells more guitars?
It's certainly the only thing holding me and others back from owning several.
