Enough of the strat clones at least paint the headstocks or do some pointy heads for a couple of runs.Had enough of the 2 hum 1979 model with 1980's paint jobs.Give me some 1 hum maple pointies.To me Rosewood on a 1 hum charvel is like buying a front wheel drive corvette (its cool but would never be happy with it)

I actually like the trans finishes in this batch, as far as trans finishes go - they're head and shoulders above the kandy tranny pink from the last batch. These trans colors look like something you'd see on a Suhr or Andersen type guitar. Classy. Nice call on these, Charvel - I think they'll sell a bunch of them.

I LOVE the single hum, rosewood board, but not the color. I could deal with the direct mount (obviously, add a ring and a proper Dimarzio Super Distortion both in creme). But Fiesta Red is just... too salmony. I was even planning out my purchase if it was ferrari red - send the body off to Mike Learn for a hot rod flame job on top of the red.

The blue flame is killer - those will go quick. My wife likes the yellow flame, but I think it looks cheap - like it was drawn with Crayola.

Anyway... I'll either snatch a rosewood neck off ebay when they're parted out and a red or white body socal body (prob white) and do it up myself... or look for a Custom Shop with a rosewood board... or hell, three months isn't that long - see what the next batch brings.

Correction - $150 for the blue.

As to the 3-way on the HSS - that's just goofy. If they needed to stick with a 3-way switch, IMHO they would've been better off doing a HS layout instead.

On their spec sheet they show it as just a regular 3-way toggle - bridge, middle, neck

Yeah I was trying to figure it out too - maybe its one of those dimarzio 3-ways that they used on the Petrucci model that can split the coils and all that...

but then... they sourced a special three-way instead of cutting a blade slot? That ain't make no sense!

All the pieces you need for practically any configuration is out there now. Sure I would have liked to have seen a 1-hum with a maple board out of the box, but now I can have one if I want one through a little clicky click on ebay and it's done. Sell the rosewood and probably make a profit on the trade. Then whatever- strip the body, send it to Learn, send it wherever, put a pup ring on it, stick a creme pickup on it.....go nuts.

well, the Fiesta red is not my bag baby. its too damn orange. it should have been ferarri red IMO. I think the rosewood is to discourage EVH clones.

Would have WAY cooler with a maple fretboard... Let's wait for the next batch... :think:

You could put the rosewood on the white so cal and have a real fake e lee and a maple 1 hum that would be cool.

well, after further review, the fiesta red is fugly. damn. I want to like it too, but I dont. its not happenin. the guitar is, but the color aint.

its just aint happening.

I say the HSS is not a good idea. 2 hum or 1 hum is the way to go. HSS is just too common.
