well, the Fiesta red is not my bag baby. its too damn orange. it should have been ferarri red IMO. I think the rosewood is to discourage EVH clones.

the trans colors dont excite me at all.

I will say the blue flame is cool. but not quite my style. I dont quite know why......it is nicely done, but its just not me. the yellow flame is way lame.

I am still waiting for the right one.

I will be 82 yrs old sitting here waiting for them to do a sea foam green so cal with chrome gear and white pearlized pickgaurd.

i think its awesome that theyre making rosewood now, and single hums.. but theyre not putting those new features to their best potential, when i first seen that HSS i just thought IMPORT JACKSON.

the features have alot of potential. but it fell short.

The one hum shoulda been brite red, or robin egg blue with chrome pickup ring. that would have fuggin rocked!!!!!

also, i know we're not going to get any pointys but.. why cant they paint the head? i think the natural head looks so tacky on some.. would look much better in black, or even matching!

And I'm sure it's a 5-way switch, not a 3-way, but you never know. Replacements are available, however.

the color match headstock isnt a must for me. I dont mind it, but its not a must.

I still think the best one they had was the white SD with chrome gear, and the zebra pickups. I so missed the boat on that one. thats OK though, I am sure something cool will come along in an upcoming batch and I can snag one up.

Oh I also dont like the direct mount pickup thing. never have.

ya know........ I do think they could add alot to these with some small details. things other folks have mentioned such as:

chrome hardware on more models
creme pickups & rings.
zebra pickups.
chrome pickup rings on the chrome hardware models.


that stuff would add alot of "mojo" to them, without adding alot of cost such as a custom paint graphic.

I mean think of this

a one hum in robin egg blue, creme pickup, chrome ring, chrome gear. rosewood or maple. damn cool.

a one hum in Ferarri red, zebra pickup, chrome ring, chrome gear. rosewood. damn cool.


people would fly off the of their lazy boy recliners to buy those. trust me.


I still say a surf green or sea foam green socal, maple board, white pearl pick gaurd with white pickups and chrome gear would be a total winner. I really do.

another one. I know they already did Candy Red. but candy red 2 hum, black pickups, with chrome rings, rosewood, and chrome gear.

I like the trans Kandy Gold.
Don't think I'm buying anything that early in 10, but, it's the winner of the batch IMO.

Meh, pretty mediocre in my opinion. The trans finishes are just weak. As another poster said, they really only work with sunbursts/classic finishes, not golds and magentas. I really wanted to get an HSS this time around, but it looks like I'll have to pass.

I wish they would do a Ferrari Red HSS SD1. I would be set.

I'm not gonna say that I don't like them, but so far other than the white/chrome SD1 none of the batches are as good as the 1st three that came out. Well let me rephrase that. The So-Cals of the 1st three batches in the production series Charvels took the cake. the Candy Tangerine ...nothing has matched it in terms of surprise when it came out. The Pagan Gold...just a wicked cool color with that flat black pickguard. The Candy Green....another really stand-out color that looks great with all of the black accents. The only other guitar provided by Charvel in the production line that held the "cool must have" factor was that white SD1 with the chrome hardware and zebra p/u's.

Yeah its all opinion I know...but its the only opinion that really matters to me.

On their spec sheet they show it as just a regular 3-way toggle - bridge, middle, neck

Leaves out that all-important notch position. I guess they could cut the mid and neck single route on the cheap, but not a slot for a blade selector?

Potential mod - add Tone in the the 3-way hole and 3 mini-switches.
