rosewood board, 2H, raw body
maple board, H/S, raw body
each comes with a can of clear and a can of paint, buyer's choice of color

problem solved...now everyone wins

Pickup color changes, pickup ring changes, hardware changes = do it yourself...lazy bastards!

My point buried somewhere in this is, it will take 15 years to make everyone happy...and by that time Gibson will have designed a guitar that plays itself and Charvels will be obsolete!

I think a lot of people are missing the fact that Charvels have always traditionally been hot rodded, modding guitars - remember all your 80s heros who changed pickups, cut out neck pickup holes (or ripped out neck pickups altogether!), took off vintage trems and banged in a floyd, changed necks constantly and re sprayed that white in neon pink??

A worldwide manufacturer will never produce exactly what an individual wants - its not financially viable to cater for a minority - that is what custom shops are for. Not all of the colour schemes are exactly what yoiu want but certainly will be collectable in years to come, and with all the options becoming available - just by a couple and chop and change if you want!

In short - be a man a bout it, stop whining and get modding!

FINALLY! An HSS!! Not really my color but it shows definate promise. The red ale looks great too. I'm not a single hum guy, but I like the roseyfied board alot.
That Blue flame though......OMFG!!!!!! That is absolutely HOT!!!!! (Pun intended) Damn I wish I had a frikken job! All the good shit comes out after I'm not working!!! Oh well...

I think its cool they are dabbling a bit, and I am not worried, one of these batches will include the right guitar for me.

Hope they put a 5-way blade switch in the next HSS though. Half the fun of an HSS is the "2" and "4" positions.

If Charvel did something like mix and match parts as a 4th option, I think it would be a really cool thing.
Kind of a not custom, as it would be based on the production parts.

i dunno wether to get that fiesta red single hum and mess around trying to get somebody to swap for a maple with me, and swap chrome for black too!
or maybe i'll get the trans kandy magenta from last bach and give it some GOLD hardware!
maybe gold hardware is in the next batch?

I just wish that Charvel would come around with a TelexploVstrat shaped body with a 1/2 pointy 1/2 strat headstock. With inlays that alternate between black, abalone, and MOP dots/sharkies/trapezoids. That would rock ....and it would be so simple for them ...its just pushing a few buttons on the CNC right?

Oh yeah and make the TelexploVstrat body out of bubinga/mahogany/lacewood and carbonite...for the tones of course.

They could then change the paint/graphic scheme weekly so as to please any and all possible customers.
