The used a really small screw at the CS. I doubt they would drill out the pickup vs. just using those same small screws, so I'm gonna bet you could just hang the existing pickup off a ring no problem.

I can live with the no case as I have cases, but the color........UGH.

Well, I watched it. sorry, I still cant get into that color. and belive me, I am trying REALLY hard. I love everything else about the guitar. I just cant like it. I want to but I cant. I remember when Matt had a smokin deal on a green SL2H last december, I wanted the guitar SO damn badly, but I hated the color. I tried and tried and tried to like the color, but not matter how much I tried to convince myself, I just didnt like it. so I passed on it. its just personal opinion and taste. so I will just hang in there and wait for the right one. it will come along.Last edited by tonemonster; 12-18-2009, 10:08 PM."clean sounds are for pussies" - Axewielder

Edit:
The other thing they should do is stick to the popular base finishes:
Ferrari red, Polar White, Black, Taxicab yellow plus a rotating metallic (like the earlier batches). Then they could just switch pickup combinations (HH, HS, H) and brands, fretboard woods and have chrome or black hardware.Last edited by alanhindle; 12-18-2009, 10:25 PM.

For me, it sounds like I have a Compressor running all the time. Highs aren't as high as they should be and the lows have no balls. Overall output seems to be stifled, like someone trying to sing with sinus congestion.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

It just doesn't work for me in anything doing any type of music. I can't play along with anything that sounds like it. A ToneZone sounds closer to classic Iron Maiden than the JB does.
I do like the JB in the neck, though, and the JBJr (ceramic magnet).
I just don't care for the JB in the bridge of anything.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
