The Pro Mods have a 37mm block stock.

    You can use a 37 or a 42mm block.

With the 42mm block from floydupgrades, the tremolo will have basically zero pull-up even when setup parallel to the neck. If you want a dive-only tremolo it's awesome, if not, better go with the 37mm, which should be a little more able to pull-up.

I do not know for sure on the 37, but take it as fact on the 42, that's exactly what I used, and, there was no pull-up at all.

I would check the jack on the guitar. use some electrical contact cleaner on the jack and work a plug back and forth in it, and open up the back and spray some on the switch, and inside the pot. move everything around really well while its "wet" with the cleaner before it evaporates. see if that helps. I bet it does the trick.

if that dont do it, you may have a short to ground, or a bad solder joint. or bad switch, or pot or jack. and the last likely is a bad pickup.

      thats my take on it.

just a dumb question, is your cable good????

Yea, the first thing I checked was the cable and it's fine.

I've been using it through my practice amp at home and it's been working fine now.

I think my problem is that the strings seem tighter on the SD1 than what I'm used to. If I change the spring tension on the floyd will this change the feel of the strings? Will it then have to be intonated and the truss rod adjusted again?

Thanks for all the help. I really want this guitar to workout because I've always wanted a strathead Charvel.

The 37 is the right one. I picked the L-shaped one and it works fine. Still has plenty of pull-up range.

The tension of the strings is based on scale length, tuning pitch, and type/size of strings. I don't think changing the number of springs will change the string tension.

If you put in 4 springs for example, you'll just end up loosening the spring clamp screws so that the floating balance of the floyd is restored and end up with the same string tension as before. Your floyd will of course feel stiffer.
