Charvel San Dimas Graphic Flame Blue very limited edition
I think the flame graphic looks a lot better than the yellow - but that said, neither is my cuppa, so I wouldn't consider either of them.
Regular hot-rod flames on a blue or metallic blue body would have been more along my tastes and I probably would have been throwing punches to get one.

I would probably have a black eye then. cuz I would be going for one too if that was the case. a 1 hum in a blue ghost flames or hot rod flames on blue body, oh yea. color me there.
I already placed an order for one at my local dealer, but I'm fully expecting it to be cancelled since reps say it will only be sold at NAMM 2010. But, I had to at least try. I'm not completely without hope, crossing my fingers.
mmm blue flames!
If anyone has any info that may help me procure one, please PM me. I would appreciate it very much. I actually emailed fender/charvel asking for better photos but they told me all they had was the low res ones shown on the website / pdf. (yeah right.. )

Hmmm...it's not like that would be difficult to reproduce with an existing Pro Mod and an aftermarket paint job. While I can understand the exclusivity of owning of one of these, if you just like the way it looks you can still get that look.
Yep Matt_b you are correct. If I don't get one of the blue flames I'll probably just buy a black one and have a custom paint job done to it. I have no paint shops near me that can do that kind of work though
I love my tangerine socal and I've been wanting a san dimas to get a little variety in tone, but have been holding out for a cool color to be released. i dig the new flame job (which looks more like paint than a graphic, with the signature on the lower horn and all). I also dig to a lesser extent, the exclusitivity of it. Oddly enough, i'm not a collector though. I play all of my guitars on stage and don't baby them one bit beyond basic maintenance.
In fact I even let my son play with them all, from my $600 charvel to my $$$ parker:
I feel that life is too short to pamper shit and keep the good stuff home in cases! In fact my acoustic has hundreds of baby fingerprints / crusty drool marks all over it at the moment - really need to clean it!
Its exciting to think that I may have a shot at getting one, regardless.

There are no good painters around where I live either which is why I've been sending my guitars (3 so far) to Mike Learn for work. Shipping is not expensive ($30 each way) and turnaround is quick.
I've heard he does excellent work. Are his prices reasonable? Most of what I've seen are airbrushed graphics. Does he do things like flames and complete refins (candy colors, etc)
PM me pics of your guitars he's painted, would like to see some of his work!
Mike Learn does excellent work and yes, his prices are reasonable. Can he do flames? :ROTF: You're cracking me up! Mike Learn can paint anything you want! Here is the Charvel body I sent him to paint for me a few months ago:

I can one better and post links to the guitars he's painted for me so far:
He ends up doing a lot of graphics for folks because he's amazing at it and that's what a lot of people go to him for. That said, he is just as adept at your run-of-the-mill single color finishes such as the red metal flake he did on my Strat.
His prices are very reasonable (contact him for pricing), his turnaround is very good and he's a pleasure to work with. He can definitely do flames as good as anyone and a lot better than some.
I am going to have him paint a guitar for me too, a airbrushing of Ernest Borgnine having a threesome with Bea Arthur & Isabel Sanford (weezy Jefferson).
Thank you for that for answering my question without coming across as condescending. His work is amazing! I dig the custom paint on the guitar case too!
I will definitely look him up when I'm ready to repaint one of my guitars.
