The pointys were at a much higher price point than the Stratheads. I have a couple of the pointy's and they are awesome guitars! One on E-Bay recently sold for just under $900 and it was a Floyded Red Ghost Flames! I should have bid on that one myself

It seems that Charvel re-tooled or cut corners to get that price down. It's possible that if they went back to pointys for a run or two with the same specs (and not paying the licensing fee to FMIC for the strat head) they may actually come in cheaper than the current batches.

Then again, to make a few bucks more, they may just stay the same price.

You got it 1/2 maple 1/2 ebony and it is a lacewood/bubinga/and carbonite (the same stuff they used to freeze Han Solo in the Empire Strikes Back!!!) body. It would be friggin sweet wouldn't it.

Did you also notice the 1/2 pointy 1/2 strathead headstock? This guitar has it all. Its just begging to be mass produced.
