I just scored a Retro Star on Evilbay and thought I'd share.

    Nice

I thought it was a great price. I was watching that one with serious interest and almost pulled the trigger myself but after burning through a lot of cash for the holidays, I really had to show restraint. Nice score and I'm glad someone on the board got it. Let us know how it plays!

UPS should deliver the guitar thursday or friday. I also got some schaller locking tuners so I can use the V-Trem without tuning issues.

Anyone know what kind of case will fit a Star?

And get some nut-lube, too. Try it without lube first, and if you're still getting "pings" lube 'er up.

What do I use for lube? Will chapstick work? I know that's a trick when using a kahler.

Chap Stick, Kahler recommends 3 in 1 oil or light oil, i believe. Granturk is talking about Nutsauce. I order it from Harris-Teller. I have also seen it in the back of Guitar Player. The ad shows the guy putting on the saddles and fulcrum pionts of the trem and everywhere else, the nut the tuners and so on. I put it on the toilet handle when it started creaking it miraculously stopped.

Looks great, color changing paint and all! Soooo, how does it play? I'm still kicking myself for not bidding on that one.

I wish it was color changing paint. Its not. I just like to play with the color filter on my camera.

Balance is fantastic- there's no neck dive. She plays pretty well. Its right up there with my san dimas as far as playability goes, and is of higher quality.
