Used San Dimas style 1 price?

I just paid $750 for a mint SD-1 on ebay. Why do you think a guitar that sells for $1,100 should sell for half price if it's used lightly for 6 months??

because they often don't sell for $1100. That's just the Minimum Advertised Price. Dealers will often sell them for less. As others have said, dealers were retailing the Teles for $699 a little while ago.

Depends on the guitar. The Teles are not loved for some reason, so they are being blown out by stores. Try finding a Candy Blue one for $699 new. I plan on selling my Candy Blue - hopefully I'll get over $700 for it.

It always depends on what you have, who wants it, and where else they can get it.

Basically you have two types of buyers, one who is looking for something specific and would actually PREFER new, and highly values the "6 months old, only occasionally removed from the gig bag to sniff its essence" items, and then you have the "save a buck" guys, who don't give a crap whether they can get it new for $100 more, they want to get it as CHEAP a they can, probably can live with "a few scratches" or "whatever color" etc.

A black San Dimas Style 1 2H is not exactly hard to come across, so they're not going to bring much money used, because you're limited to the "save a buck" crowd.

If you have a desirable finish (Polar White + chrome HW) you will get more money faster because someone who "missed out" on a new one will want yours and will pay top dollar if it's mint.
