I am most interested in the Warren snakeskin.

Granted I am a relatively new Charvel owner, long time admirer. Let's just say that I have a CS (green sparkle!) and a production model, the production model only gets play because I need to give the CS a rest every one and a while.

The CS is the best feeling and sounding guitar I've every played and owned.

I am hoping this will be similar in price to the other Warren models, otherwise I will wait until the price comes down.

If you want to say that a custom shop guitar isn't worth $1300 more than a Pro Mod then, you know, that's kind of been said, argued, chewed up, spit out, and pissed on more times than I care to count.
I realize that I might be kickin a dead horse. but I just cant see it from a practical viewpoint. Sure, its got a soloist body and a single coil neck, big deal, its still not enough change to warrant a "custom shop" price tag to me. those are two things that can be done easily on the line. to me, a custom shop option should be something like upside down sharkfins, reverse strat head stock, birdseye maple fretboard, black binding, a "one off" color or graphic.

but a graphic thats going to be put on a few hundred guitars isnt "custom shop" to me. thats just standard production. sure, its not the standard production series, but its not a custom one off guitar either. its a limited run or special edition to me.

this is all just my opinion of course, its just the way I see it, so take it with a grain of salt. just sayin......

I don't know how to say this, other than that I think you have an incorrect perception of what the Charvel Custom Shop vs. the Charvel Pro Mod entails.

I understand what you are saying, it's "not that different" from the Pro Mods. But Custom Shop guitars are made by completely different people, using different materials, etc.

I'll put it this way... If you wanted a Fiesta Red single-hum with a Rosewood board and a direct mount pickup, you could pay $1099 for the Pro Mod or you could buy the exact same config from the Custom Shop, for let's say, $2400. Is the Custom Shop guitar worth the extra $1300? That is up to you. But you can bet your ass it will be different.

Whether or not its a custom shop guitar might be debatable but these are still hand-crafted guitars compared to the Pro series which are turned out in mass production.

well I have changed my mind about that truss rod cut out. I didnt like it before, but after I found out the alternative is to take the neck off to adjust it, I like it. call me kooky, call me set in my ways, call me high maintanence, I dont care, but having to take the neck off of a guitar to adjust the truss rod is just not necessary. I dont care if thats they way it was in the 50's. its 2010 now, and its not practical. I have a 1993 USA Strat and it has the truss rod adjustment up at the headstock. now the Charvel has the same basic neck as a strat, so why dont they make the neck adjustable at the headstock?? It just dont make sense to me. I live in an enviroment thats subject to alot of temp, humidity and pressure changes, and have to make neck adjustments as I dont like any fret buzz. not even a little.

and if they dont do the headstock truss adjustment, why dont they offer this cut out on the pro mods? I really dont get it.

hey Mike - what kind of cases do they come with? I imagine a regular G&G strat case isn't going to fit the Dinky body?

                          Mike-

Got a spec sheet, or the guitar's details otherwise? Is it a matte finish? Is that the final truss rod arrangement? etc..

                          Thanks.

What's the nut width on these puppies, the usual 1 11/16''? I'd kill for a 1 3/4" one...
